Tires. 150/60-17 (motard?)

I am getting some motard wheels for my CRF

I am told that a 150/60-17 would be ideal and that a 160/60-17 may rub.

I think I have a couple 160's but I didn't know if any of you Motard fellas ran 150's?

I am looking for a good street tire. (Actually leaning toward the Shinko's believe it our not)

Anyone got a set of takeoffs? 120 front

150=too small

CRF's work better with the bigger tire. Are they 4.25 or 5.0 rims? Thats what decides if they rub or not.

You want to race the Shinko? The 003, 005 or 009?

Dude the new Dunlop 170 will fit that thing. Let the chain do it's job and trim the tire down for you. That way it won't scratch your pretty rims.

150 and 160's of most brands will work fine. The dunlop 165 is what I run on a 5.5" wide rim and it only rubs a little bit. If your just streeting around you'll be fine with any of them.

I don't think he is going racing with the 250. Street use only.

Re: Tires. 150/60-17 (motard?)

Doc, if you want a 150 rear dunlop D208gp take off I'll have one at Loudon in 2 weeks. I'm usually in center garage 2 but if they are not finished yet I'll probably be by the helicopter pads. Of course it's a little shagged but how bad could it be from an EX?

The price? Free, unless a beer falls out of your cooler near my pit area ;-)

Let us be clear.

Not racing. Check

CRF250X that I am gona try to use as an around town play bike. Check

Bunch of friends that are offering good tips and free tires Check

Thanks guys!
I just want to get this thing registered ASAP and I need tires that will pass an inspection. The take off idea was a "just in case".

So 4.25 and I can run a 160 ya think?

Dude he might be faster on the 250 than any other bike he owns. Don't count it out yet.

No replacement for displacement. I am fastest on the Duc. Now If I can just get it running again and change the fluid in the forks...

One time Amanda got me in the bus while you went to the bathroom. Talk about a quick flick.

Bring the gas can.
