Cheap Bastids

Alright gentlemen, who is bringing what?

Big-D, you still have the power thingy? I think I have your safety wire pliers. That, or mine reproduced. That would explain the stainless steel semen.

Daviid, are you coming up? Will your bike leak oil in Darrell's trailer? Will we need to fix it with a hammer?

Pete, what time are you coming up, Saturday morning? How many practices will you be missing by wandering the pits chatting?

I'll be bringing the usual. My truck, pitbike, ice-box and grill/cooler. 5 Gallon fuel jug, SOME tools (not all like usual, they walk away).

Extension cord/power strip. I recommend you guys bring one also, things were getting tight last year.

Big-D, can I call dibsies on having an under-EZ-EX? I'll bring Schlitz....

Re: Cheap Bastids

Yup, I've got the power thingy. As for safety wire pliers, I never owned a set so yours must have reproduced.

I'm planning on heading up friday morning/afternoon and trying to catch the friday practice session, we'll see how that works out though.

Clayton you're more than welcome under my EZ-Up. I got the Express II from harbor freight and I also got the four wall kit, so if anyone else wanted to buy an EZ-up we could combine them and do a double wide open front configuration.

Bought some additional hand tools and some extension cords this year, other than that and the air compressor I'll pretty much have the same shit I did last year.

Joel, are you gonna have the husky back in one piece in time for April?

Saxman would know that for sure, he usually heads up early to get some fast-people testing in.

I'm contemplating doing the same. Ya know, minus the fast part.

Though not officially a CheapBastid member I appreciate the thought Darrell.

I am still not sure on whether or not I will be racing for the first weekend. The bike might be together but I may have some other things that would keep me from racing. Who knows!

That being said. If any of the CheapBastids were interested in using the EZ up type canopy that I have for the first weekend they are more than welcome to. Just need to get in touch with me and figure out a good time to grab it from me.

Regardless of whether or not I wind up at the track for the first weekend I hope every one has a great and safe time.

Joel

Re: Cheap Bastids

I'm new to this cheapbastid thing...some kind of group of racers who run cheap bikes? Saw the sticker on Pete's EX500 at VIR. I'm a cheapbastid, but don't have a cheap bike...so I probably don't fit in. However, I may ask Pete to introduce me to you cheapbastids in a couple of weeks. I'm planning on being up Friday also. When does the open practice start? I've only run Penguin afternoon sessions before, so not clear on the sign-up. I assume I just register for the practice when I arrive.

Cheap Bastid Racing for the "official" (and severely outdated ) info

we're by no means an "exclusive club" Just a few friends that race EX's & felt like "teaming up". Joel's kinda involved, too... same with Brent & Lis when they come up.... and the Low-down guys... and Oxx... and Hawk Nation... it's one big happy family.

Re: Cheap Bastids

it's not about making the EX faster, it's about making the rider faster... That's the whole point behind PTwins. Everyone's got a slow bike!

If it came down to never riding on the track again or riding an ex on the track to get on the track I would choose never riding on the track. That was the scariest fuckin thing I have ever done. My Superhawk wallows through the turn, but the EX bellows. Riding and ex is like riding a BOLOGNA SANGWICH.

You guys that can rip 20 summthings on an ex are not right and, my hat is off to you. You really do in fact have a screw loose!!
