Who's ready

Is anyone actually 100% ready for next weekend? Bike, gear, everything ready to roll? Cause if so I hate you.
My bikes 1/2 safety wire, half put back together, need about 1000 zipties, gather up all my spares, find my boots gloves tire warmers in my room somewhere.
All along I knew I needed to get everything ready before the weather warmed up and I can ride, and of course I didnt. What did I do today? Safety wire the front end, and went riding.
But Ill be ready by next weekend! Dont fret!

Nope. More parts arriving tomorrow and hopefully some others arriving prior to my departure. I need to get some paint work done this week as well!

When's everyone going up?

Re: Who's ready

Almost done! Picked the bike up from Kates on Saturday and got her all together today.

Just need to change the oil, one last bleed of the brakes, and safety wire. Maybe 2 hours of work at most.

Heading up first thing Friday morning!

Re: Who's ready

Going to VIR in March made me ready this year, but usually i am working late every night the week before the first weekend. I lubed the bearings in the trailer today just for something to do.

I still have to pick up an EZ-UP this week just in case my alternate garage accomodations fall through.

Re: Who's ready

changed oil and brake fluid today, got new Woodcraft tire warmers, a suit liner, chest protector, new Arai helmet last week and another leather (JRocket) suit couple weeks ago. Re-safety wire tomorrow and if some one lends me gas money I'm good to go Friday thru Monday!

Re: Who's ready

Pulled the bike out of the basement yesterday, oil change, re-safety wired the drain plug, filler and filter. Put some gas in it (yes it actually runs BETTER with straight pump gas) and took it down the street to make sure she was happy.

Pulled the trailer out of the mud pit. Gunna tar the roof tonight and empty it out. Should be heading up to the track Friday AM.

Re: Who's ready

I'm still waiting on a front tire after having to cancel one order due to a lack of communication... going to be pushing an older tire in back for now, joy. I need to safety wire the bike, put on a Battery Tender harness, and put on a new front brake line, and the bike will be good to go.

I'm pretty much set gear wise, other than trying to track down a set of tire warmers to borrow for the first weekend.

All I can say is.... You're a freakin' slacker! Put the street bike on the back burner and get your ass in gear. I didn't even have a motor in my bike 10 days ago but I'm all set to go now. Racing is THE priority and as such everything else should be put on hold until all preparatory work is done!!!

I only have about 100 different nuts and bolts left to install.
Bodywork is supposed to be painted tomorrow.

Re: Who's ready

- Need to paint one bike.
- Install a new drive train on another.
- Saftey wire both
- Get some number plates from comp (can't find glossy yellow adhesive backed material anywhere)
- Get a new rear tire
- There's more I can't think of, but a recent shoulder injury could keep me on the sideline this weekend. Pfffttt!! Fu**in BS.

Parts Unlimited carries a supplier by the name of "FX Works" or something close to that name.

You can get 3 large rectangle sheets of the stuff for like 16 bux. They also offer pre-cut but I think it's mostly for dirt bike applications.

I can have some ordered up for ya just gotta let me know asap.

Re: Who's ready

I need a race number

Other than that I'm just about ready to go minus the usual odds & ends.
I COULD do some things to the bike, but it can race as is.
