my experience with Mike from Impact Armor

I'd like to share this with everyone because I feel that it was well above and beyond the call. Having seen Jamie's crash in T3 at the classic weekend last year, I used his chest protector when I raced. During the off season I had talked about getting my own. Not even two weeks ago, I finally got around to sending Mike at Impact Armor my measurements. I called him shortly after I faxed and explained that I'm a boob and I waited until the last minute because the first race weekend was less than 2 weeks away. He promptly sent out my template. I tried it on the same day it arrived and gave him the go-ahead to make the chest protector and please hurry so I might have it in time for the first weekend. He said he couldn't make any promises, but he'd surely try. The Wednesday before the races, he was ready and dropped the item in the mail directly to Wanda at NHMS to ensure I'd get it, as we we're cutting it so close. Lo and behold, it had arrived some time Friday and I was in business. I only required the chest protector to be rushed, because I have an Alpinestars tech-race back protector that I use while I wait on the Impact Armor.

My phone rang this morning. It was Mike making sure it got to me and worked as planned. I gladly shared that while it fit perfect, I haven't had to test it yet and hope I never do. He said he'd begin work on the back protector portion now, and we'll be in business for the next race two weeks from now.

I'm not expecting everyone's turnaround to be as quick, but I'd like to say hats off to Mike for making a safety product that works, and coming through for me in a jam. I highly recommend Impact Armor.

+1. were it not for a NHMS package-routing-issue I'd have the exact same story (NHMS put the package in some executive named Scott's office at the track ).

Mike called me this morning (without any prompting) and has since straightened them out.

I can also attest to his skill and awesomeness. He did basically the same thing for me short turn around time and great product. I think i paid 200 something bucks for the protectors

i got the same service, awesome to deal with. not sure on the price as i am on the third season with mine and i tend to have selective memory when it comes to racing expenses.

Not sure if he's still offering discounts for TonysTrackDays peeps... did you guys ask him about that?

I've been having trouble emailing him, but will try and sort that out.

I got mine AFTER breaking most of my ribs in a get-off. Feels naked when I ride without it now... it seems to offer the most "surround body" protection I've seen?
