i arrived sat nigh (as usual). spent some of the night and most of the next morning getting the bike buttoned up. safety wire, new 520 kit. no practice as it was raining and i didnt have rains mounted.
Races start and it stopped raining. i cant tell if its drying so i steal the front wheel off jimmys 1k and get rains mounted to it. race 3 and the bikes are still roostertailing water so i mount rains and boogie. i get to pre grid and im in 4c not a bad place to be for the season. sighting lap shows some dry spots like the chute into 3 and 6.
green drops and im light on the throttle. IDK where i am but jersey goes around the outside of T1 but i get him and 2 others in T2 on the inside. chase and follow 2 more guys and get 1 on the outside of T1 and the other on the inside of T2. i know Jersey is on my ass so move it. the leaders are in sight but out of striking distance. i get the 1/2 flag and the track is drying fast so i take a peek...no one...im alone. i turn it back a few notches to save the rains for the last few laps and finish 4th. im happy with it. first EX race, got 4th and wood
