And if you get used to the floating one, youll want it more in the rain, I switch it between rims when I need to switch. The stockers BLOW in the rain

Re: #357 & #383 Week 1&2 Reports

Cheap parts alert!

I love the stock Kawasaki pads. They are Tokico HH and work awsome. I usually watch on ebay for a newer model front caliper and make sure they come with pads. These can be had for like $10.00 to $20.00 + shipping. Then I not only have a pretty new caliper, but most EX street riders never use the front brake and I get new pads to boot. Are we talking cheap bastid yet?

And stock rotors work as well as floating rotors other than they warp quicker. I use the same stock one on my rain rim for like 5 years now. In fact, since the calipers have sliders, There really isn't a need for floating rotors and I know Dana and Joey use Galfer non floating rotors with good results.

A stainless/kevlar race brake line is essential, though.

Now don't you guys go buying up all my calipers on ebay!

Thanks for chiming in Mark!

I gotta get me a SS line!!!

https://helusa.worldispnetwork.com/s.../HEL-1F-0R.htm

(note: It looks like the kit that's for the 2nd gen EX has the SAME line as the line above, but also comes with a rear line as well... which obviuosly isn't needed)

I'll probably place an order within the next week or so... this way if anyone else wants to get in on it to save shipping costs you can just let me know

And some case guards ;-) I'll see about making a couple sets if people want to buy them for cheap.

Please replace your water pump cover before the next race! JB is awesome, right up to the point when it isn't awesome and you/the guy behind you are sliding on your butt again!

I have to make a point to cruise around and meet you guys at the next event!

The thing is, he had them. Just not on his bike. A lot of good that did. He had better have put them on for this past weekend.

Nice write up H. Wish I was around for the past weekends fun. Congrats on the 3rd and Alex's 4th. I see more from you guys. Hope to see you next time.

Crashing is a memory thing. If you don't have a brain there is nothing to remember.

Seriously, its takes time, but you have to analyze everything that is happening to you, your bike and your environment. It’s a little tougher to learn this as a Novice, as you are just basically trying to survive while going as fast as you can and not really focusing on why. A few campfire racing sessions and a few track walks you can gain "some" pointers. Hell I’m still learning, I just learned something driving on the track backwards with the truck and trailer from the rained out TTD.
