Denno's First AM weekend

I'll make it quick

missed both practices sat morning trying to deal with the fork issue we've continued to have (no rebound damping)

race 1 GTU - (right after the Rookie Race, congrats to those of you who did your RR this weekend - Chris, evan, etc)

got a great start and had the whole shot into T1 when the left clip on folded in - a very scary moment but i kept it up and rolled into the T2 corner station... hi again keira
DNF

race 8 HW SB -(RAIN RACE) got the whole shot again and got passed in 1a - i followed him in second place going into the bowl and he started to pull away on me gradually until he was out of site... with all the rain riding ive done so far this year i was comfortable out there and ran pretty consistent 132's and knew i could go faster! i kept getting the slow it down signal from degsy on the front straight so i just held it steady for the race with no incident... the only other rider i saw was the expert race winner on lap 7 (almost escaped getting lapped!) i finished in 2nd place 24 secs ahead of 3rd place

2nd Place

sunday
2 nice practices, consistent 24's, bike was feeling 1000x's better with some of Peter Kates' off track handy-work and some fabrication to get some rebound - once again, like riding a completely "different" bike again

race 2 mw sb - gridded up next to saxman - got a great start but jamie just braked later than me coming into 1 - i was 2nd thru 1a and 2 - three or four more bikes got by me into three and one more into the bowl... coming into turn 9 i tucked the front and the next thing i knew the bike was facing me and spining around... i got onto my butt and braced for a shitty ride! i came to a stop filled with sand in my helmet, mouth and suit... the bike was ok and i got it up and started! i was lucky and there was a red flag from a T1a incident.. i re-grid up and get an awful start - bye bye everyone! im maybe 2nd to last into T1 and finish dead last

DEAD LAST

race 6 hw ss - i get another awful start almost looping the bike! see kitt's thread settle in get passed into 3/4 and into the bowl and eventualy finish 3rd to last... i got my laptimes into the low 123's so i was happy with that and know there's room for improvement all over the track

14th

ok first weekend as an AM but the neves were killing me

123's and a second place

Denno

thanks guys - seriously - im trying to meet some goals i set at the begining of the year and well done means more than well said - i've already had some extreme ups and downs in 3 race weekends and its been a real eye opener

unfortunately this isn't the YMCA and you dont get a trophy for just showing up so i need to do a lot better at the classic

nice dude, 1:32 is a good rain time... I had 5th/8 in mw SS in the rain, running 135's (i think i was being super timid after going down hard in 2 on the first lap).

I think I was doing 1:52's in the rain! I am such a pussy!

Edit: Just checked 1:35's on a Duc 620... Felt MUCH slower.

So what's the difference between a "Whole Shot" and a "Hole shot" ???

Good work Denno... maybe you should take up drag racing?

Re: Denno's First AM weekend

Denno, would it make you feel better if I wasn't there?

Too bad.

You did well this weekend, considering all the ups and downs. Besides, where else but Loudon can you get me to flag for you and daytona440 to get you allen wrenches from doc, smf, hobbs, etc?
