Missing Beacon (transmitter)

I am missing my XT Racing Lap Timer transmitter I put it on the wall of the front straight Saturday morning next to another one out there. I checked everywhere for it with no luck. If anyone can think of anywhere else I can check other than the scales garge, tech, or the media center please let me know.

It is a blue transmitter/beacon with my race number 531 on it..

Also that was this past saturday 6/14

Thanks,
Leo

Re: Missing Beacon (transmitter)

It has been confiscated.

Why would you put a beacon out next to another one? There is only supposed to be one, right? I thought that was the rules.

I don't know about now, but they used to remove them if they found "extras" out there to avoid people getting screwed up lap times.

Re: Missing Beacon (transmitter)

They should pick up each others beacons I thought.

Anyhoo, I believe they take them away if they see too many out there...or used to.

Johnny B might have some input on that.

I was getting screwed up readings on my lap timer this weekend. Thought someone may have had another out there, I guess this explains it.

If there's one out there, no need for another. Maybe you need to adjust the photo eye on the bike??

I hope the novice gets his transmitter back and learned his lesson.

"the novice"... ass

Leo, knowing this, I'd say check with track officials ASAP... once nascar comes in, everything will be upside down.

Kitts right Leo,
Remember last time in the bowl we had to go find it in the garage.
I'll ask the boss what he thinks as soon as I can pry his hand away from the checkbook.

OK, here's the skinny. I don't have time to babysit the damn beacons on the wall. I don't know why somebody sees fit to put their A.I.M. out there when there are already two or three of them right there. I know of one guy who will remain nameless (*cough* *cough* al *cough* narbonne *cough* *cough*) who goes out there, puts his on the wall and turns off all the others. Last week, somebody was complaining about the 38 second lap times he was getting while I'm getting "Red flag all stations!" on the radio. This means that a beacon was put out on the fence on the back straight. No way in hell I'm running around to find these.
Here's the deal: I have appointed Jonathan Burbank (EX #23, Garage N-21) as the unofficial "Keeper of the Beacon". If you have any receiving/configuration problems, see him. If you guys see fit to put 4-5 of those suckers on the wall, put them opposite the Gnome Hospitality Center where you normally see me. If they start proliferating outside the "official" section on the wall and I start getting complaints, I will direct Jonathan to "fix" the problem as he sees fit.

Re: Missing Beacon (transmitter)

In other news, I gave up on the P.A. system this year, too many hands on the controls. The system is going to be replaced real soon, which is why they didn't bother fixing it in the Center Garages. Grant Conley was canned (He was the technician called in just about every weekend to fix the mess.) and a new guy is in to set up the new system. I met him while he was doing the FM transmitter. (87.9 on your FM dial, "All Bruce, all the time.") I'll try to remember to shut down what's left of the system to eliminate the humming noise at night, and in case you haven't noticed, you don't hear trophy presentation blasting through the paddock because I'm setting up Don's riders' meeting PA every evening in order to contain the noise.

JB, any chance of getting the FM transmitter's output boosted slightly, over by Turn 1A the reception is tenuous at best?
