Oreo report: Cheap Bastid buys a new horse.

Friggin exhausted, so I'll make this relatively short.

First thing's first... I traded the EX in for an SV

2006 clean title SV w/ less than 300 miles on it. Ohlins rear, racetech front, PCIII, Leo SBK slip-on, yadda yadda yadda. She's got the typical HobbsAutomotive.com paint scheme, but I'll have her prettied up at least a little bit for next weekend.

The SV is a WORLD of difference over the EX. I got her down into the low 23's and scored my first wood since forever ago

GTL - 4th (shoulda been a 3rd, but the race got red flagged)
LWSS - 5th (snatched it away from Cynthia Bisagni in 11a/12 on the very last lap )
LWSB - 6th.

Highlight of the weekend was a big ole slide up turn 4 in LWSB. Very predictable, very smooth. Stepped out, stayed out, I held my throttle, came back in & up the hill she went.

So that's it for me.

Huge thanks goes out to Hobbsie (Ryan Hobbs, aka pasta rocket) of Hobbs Automotive. Thanks for the new ride, brotha! (and everything else ya helped me out with this weekend. Much appreciated )

As always, it was great to see everyone & I'm happy to say that the NESR members made it through yet another race weekend relatively unscathed & represented very well with wood a plenty

SEE YOU BOYS (& girls) IN A FEW WEEKS!

Oh & before anyone says it, Jane snapped some pics of me on the new ride, I'll post em up once I get a hold of em.

Nice job and congrats on the new race steed!

Honesty, I never could quite picture you on the EX. I think the SV suits you so much better.

Good to see you out there on the new bike. I caused the red flag on the GTL (sorry), if not you might have ended in 5th!

The shower of sparks in that EX pic just about sums it up.
You EX guys are my heroes.

Congrats Pete!

A friend of mine recently went from a CB-1 to the SV and his comments were the same as well.

Re: Oreo report: Cheap Bastid buys a new horse.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, everything about it (aside from the ergonomics), the power delivery, the stopping power, the handling, it's all pretty reminiscent of my Tuono. It's got a very linear curve but it's a little flat if i let it drop below 5k... however that only happened a few times in the early goings. Once I dial in all my shift points (which still need a lot of dialing in) I shouldn't be dropping that low in the RPM's again.

I'm very happy with it. I'm definitely sad to depart from the PTwins class though. Those guys are second to none and I'll miss dicing it up with those guys. I wish I coulda held onto the EX, but I just wasn't clicking with it this year for some reason. I got it running just fine by the 3rd weekend but I just couldn't get myself back into the groove.

Hopefully I can keep dropping seconds on the SV and get back on that podium before the beginning of the 2009 season when (and I don't wanna get ahead of myself, but I'll say it anyway) I'll likely bump up to Expert. We'll see what the future holds when we get there

OSNAP!!! Good idea!!! I'm SO putting a racing stripe on it

hehehe, seriously, I'm hoping to get it re-painted by next race weekend, even if it's just a shoddy rattle can job. I may even start prepping the bodywork today.
