Just spoke to Aaron at Lockhart Phillips usa (team privateer manager) regarding patches for our pit shirts. I wanted 20 patches so we could get started on getting the shirts made and get our leathers patched up. I asked him how much they would be and he said "no charge, they are on their way to you today"

Now that's customer service.

not to be a nasty voice, here, but are your OTHER sponsors not providing patches for free?

seems to me that it's only natural if you're going to be wearing someone's schwag and saying "i use THESE products, see how good a racer i am!" that they shouldn't make you pay for 'em.

so maybe a small kudos to LP, and a "what are you thinking" to peeps who make you pay for patches.

Well yes, you are right. The thing is that LPUSA have hundreds of racers on their team privateer program. They send out a free patch to every racer but it is unusual to send out 20 of them. The patches usually cost $5 each. I know that even if they had 1000 of them made up they would still be paying about $2.50 each for them as they are 4 color fully embroidered ones. Also, Lockhart Phillips know that we are making pit shirts to sell so they could legitimately charge us for the patches as we are charging for the pit shirts.

Woodcraft are also sending us free patches, haven't spoken to Sharkskinz about patches yet.
