Good having another cool Rook in the pits.

Come to think of it I have a spare / back up Hawk you could get trackable in a week for really short money (actually it would be more time than anything) and still do up the kxf in the winter. It would be wayyy more stable out there for ya and you wouldn't have to worry about wadding it up as it is a back up bike and I have a couple behind that soooo let me know if the wheel thing doesn't work out.

Again, a 2-stroke 250 isn't much different from a 450 4st HP wise (lil less for the 250) and as a Novice he isn't going to be running 18's or anything. Bike will be just fine and the wheels/handguards/sprockets can swap right over to his (offseason) 450. Don't worry about it, he's got me in his corner (mwahahha)
I figured this was the case...

(I was trying to stop another friggin motard from getting on the track!)

No worries then Seth. Your in good hands.

Sure, Matt offers YOU his backup, every time he sees me I just get a kick in the junk... must be because I'm socially inept, and afraid of girls, oh well... Back to cleaning the toilets so I can sit in my car at the local pub's parking lot pretending to talk to girls as they walk by. If anyone needs me I'll be cleaning my toilets while playing Halo 2 on Bloodgulch, CTF... I have voice chat enabled...

Paul has said before that the engines just aren't made for it like the 2 stroke race bikes. Seems like half in favor half against the idea. I personally wouldn't risk it. IF the engine were to go, I wouldn't want to be on the other end of 'why's there oil all over the track, he was running a what?!'. I have seen a few CR 500's up there that seem to run comparable to the 450's. I'm no expert, just how I'm seeing it. I'm sure Seth could borrow a bike for a race or two.

The secret is Skittles.

Hessogood: I'd normally agree, dirt two strokes are jetted for maximum acceleration, with the expectation that they won't be held at peak RPM for extended periods. The fix, go up on the main jet. It's a liquid cooled two stroke, there's not much to go wrong, so as long as you jet appropriately, you should be able to spin the snot out of it 24x7 and just need to stop for periodic ring change outs and eventual bore and piston refreshes.

To go the extra mile, make sure you only run water in the coolant side, and non-synthetic gear oil in the crankcase so should the bad thing happens, it's an easy cleanup. You're going to have to pooch it pretty good to get the gearbox portion to break and leak though...
