NESR pit boxes

Here are some pix of the first prototype. Should make working on the bikes a little easier. No wrenched backs and no more laying on the wet ground.
I'm pretty happy with the size, but I'm thinking that a little wider and a little lower may be better
I'll have this one at the first race, and we can discuss changes before I build the next three.

Hey Gordon, the pit boxes look great. I agree the boxes look like they would need to be lowered a bit. What's the height and width thet're at now?

Thanks.
The box is 2' high and 2' wide. (8' long)
The nice thing is that it goes together without any fasteners, so it
sets up in about 30 seconds, and doesn't take up much room in the back of your truck at the end of the day. (folds flat) It's surprisingly stable once it's together.

Gordon,

Thanks-you. You have no idea how much this is appreciated. You will find out this weekend when it rains and the infield grass turns into a mudbath.

Wider may not be a good thing with these. If it's too wide, the reach to the bike may be a little much. The height's a catch 22. Do ya want it high enough to not hafta do too much bending, or do ya want it low enough so you can work on 'em while kneeling? Kneeling wouldn't be too bad, even on wet ground. We can always get kneepads for that, or even the hunting 'seat pads' that are water proof...

I can't get over those! Great friggin' job!

Lemme know when I can stop up and have a close look!

You said kneepads...

Stop over anytime to check it out...but if you wait a day or two, you can see it once Kristin is done with the lettering. (NESR RACING on the sides) The first one will be done in Ford Blue with white lettering.

Going strictly by what I can see of the wheels and stripe down the side.

I can not make out enough of the roof line to tell other wise. if I could see the front it would be a no brainer... 4 round lamps innner and outer driving would then be a 69. inner round lamps and outer turn signals would be a 70.

so I'm guessing if'n its not a 96 then its a 67-68.

You already said that year, ya kak! Going strictly by memory, I think it's an early 70's. I don't know squat about Mustangs, never was a fan....

Glad to see there's at least one person on the forum that appreciates Mustangs. Yes, the black one is a '69 MACH I.
Just got back in from taking it for its first ride of the season. Poor thing...I think it'll be sitting in the garage a lot this summer...the scooter seems to be getting a lot more road time lately...

Jay (and anyone else)...I'd be up for a little ride this afternoon. Maybe mid to late afternoon...be a good reason so escape from the relatives...
