#143 Race report

Saturday: arrive at the track around 7am, f@%k, look at that line. I miss 1st practice again Make it out for 2nd practice, and the bike seems fine but I'm not feeling it. I'm feeling pretty stressed by the time race #2 comes around. I think it had to do with me not having had much sleep leading up to the race weekend. Plus, wanting not to wreck my bike after just spending so much time and $ fixing it. Honestly I don't remember that much about the race. I was exhausted! I do remember Kip goin by, then I lost both ends of the bike in the bowl. Good thing my knee was down, I luckily saved it ( Ken liked that). anyway, I finished 3rd.

I entered a 600 race with Derricks bike, but it didn't like me, so i had to retire.

Sunday: I actually made both practices. Still not comfortable yet, but better. race #1, GTO. I start in the 3rd row. By the first turn, i think i was in 2nd. I stuck with OTW for awhile, then got by him on ther brakes. I was pretty much spent by halfway. So I started making some mistakes. I went into 3, with the throttle still on, so the bike didn't want to slow down. Dave got by, but I got him back. Soon after my hand started goin numb and i got passed by some other guy, so I had to settle for 2nd.

Race #7: I started in the sixth row, which was pretty wild. By the end of the first lap, I think I was in sixth. I was dicing back and forth, with a guy on an R6 for awhile, then we ran into lap traffic in the final turn on the final lap and I got by him and Gman to take 4th.

I know I had a decent weekend, but I'm definitely not satisfied with my results. Although I have about a total of 2hrs tracktime, I know I can do better. I just have to work on my fitness, and get more laps under my belt. now that I can walk and I don't have to build a bike , I can actually work out.

Special Thanks goes to the NESR Pit Crew!!!!!!!

I agree with Chris...for the first weekend out with your "new" bike, you did amazingly well. Top 5 finishes in all your races is friggin awesome.

Excellent job Gary!

Get to know the bike, and you're a champion.
