My w/e report

Well, had a great extended-weekend! Started out friday morning, show up for Penguin at 7, register at 7:30. Had to be back at the Penguin garage for 8:30. I was told that I would have PLENTY of time after classroom session to unload and tech my bike HUGE thanks to Dan (legalspeed), I wouldn't have made it to the follow-the-leader session had you not been there. It was raining but still had a blast on the track! Plenty of track time, in fact I skipped out on the last session because I was too tired. Hung around the track till around 9 then we caravaned back to Jay's. Sat and Sun, WOW! I can now officially say this is the last year I'll have a street-bike (for awhile anyway). Monday, Tony's trackday. Rain again (everytime I get on the track it's raining ) Still loads of fun. Had a slight mishap in turn 2. Came in alittle too leaned-over for the conditions. (rainy and waay too much air in my tires. won't do that again... ) I looked into the turn, tipped the bike in then BAM! I was on my back sliding watching the bike go up the banking. Thank you airfence and backprotector! Little sore today is all. Also big thanks to Degsy for making me get back out there! What a relief to have that first get-off out of the way.

Great to meet new people to put faces behind those avatars, Spence and all the others! Good to see everyone else again as well! Can't wait to do it again!!!

Well...

I have to apologize for telling you that your bike looked nice and shiny Sunday night then.

Hope you're feeling better pretty quickly.

Did you have frame sliders? That rocks that you were able to continue riding.

Ben

Congrats on the Penguin school Bryan. I'll be able to get the senior citizens discount by the time I get the nerve up to do it...

no. it seems my front blinker and rear-spool served quite well as frame sliders. heh. minimal damage though, didn't even scrape the clip-ons. oh-well, serves me right.

We'll have to teach you to hang off the bike.

Don't worry, it's only an R6!!
You have a good head on your shoulders, Bryan. You'll do well.

I didn't have the hip armor on, I need to rig something up first. After riding several times with the back and chest protector on, I feel naked without it. I love the stuff, it inspires confidence. I'll post up some pics of the armor later tonight after work.
