Kham, I should have gone in the "wheelie group" with you, Mark, 1/2 squid, etc. I hit Rt 2 on the way back out by North Adams (Wayne, thanks for the tip off about Rt 7 being better than Rt 8). Rt 2 had some really slow traffic, but that section of the road is so beautiful (and twisty!)

OH! the blocked-car passing menuver was really funny. Who was the person who took that on for the rest of the group?

you were on the right group. we took rt2 home as well via 8A which is shitty. rt 7 and 8 would have been better. we had 1 minor spilled. i'll leave it to the guy to say.

6/5 ride report

13 hours and 442 miles later, i'm home and sore as hell I hadn't done that many miles in a long long time.
Yeah 8a was fun until the tar snakes came alive, i don't care for the slipping and sliding feeling.
Fun day for sure, Mike and I split off on 140 to Wahahachusets and didn't hit any rain.

It was great to see everyone again from rides in the past and cool to see the new faces

Just a friendly reminder for the future, please read the group ride rules sticky posted in this forum. If you invite friends, be sure they know the rules

Now i gotta go scrape the bugs and cow shit off the bike

There were RI freeway antics, but just a few. (Black) we came way closer to wrecking when the ass in the Cherokee decided to jam his brakes and turn left.

Great meeting everyone, and the ride was great. Those have to be some of the best roads I have ever ridden. Count me in for the next tear.

What a BLAST!!!! That was allot of fun... great to finally meet allot of you and nice riding again with others. can't wait for the next one. As for the RI crew all I did was hold up a SUV and he got pissed when Ducati Tim went to go by someone tried to switch lanes and yes a little closer than I would like but boy was that guy in the SUV angry... LOL....

6/5 ride report

We went to the Cape today - it was so hot this morning we decided to head South to my parent's place - got back a couple of hours ago - we both passed out as soon as we got back - passed a big group of sportbikes getting on 495N from 24 around 4:15 or so - any of you guys? What a great day for a ride! My bike has 850 miles now and is almost through break-in - maybe I'll be ready for a group ride soon

Oh, and what the hell was up with all the f*n catepillars today? They completely covered the road in Wareham and were all over 495 - never seen anything like it - my bike must be covered with catepillar guts!

What Mark said. A few times I had someone following *really* close behind me. Even worse, a few times i started to have someone *next* to me...and this was when we were stuck behind slow cars....if I had been forced to swerve due to something in the road (like a turtle!), i don't wanna have to worry about hitting someone *next* to me, or getting rear-ended.

First 12hour / 300+ miles day for me and I'm sore as hell too but it was worth it! Great roads and great people to ride with. Good to meet all, Kham thanks for meeting up with me in the morning and the ride back.

Hope to do it again, even if its not that long.

Eduardo

Nothing worse than someone being next to you while you're moving, i can see 10-15 mph maybe but that's it. If i get a rider next to me and i don't want them there, i'll wait until they fall back a little a "drift" into the center. Most people get the idea and stop... then there are those that don't...

Yeah once I started hitting the snakes, i backed way off. It was one that went with the flow of traffic that got me. It felt like the front slid a foot (probably only and inch though). We shoulda went down Rt8/100 (the windmill road)

Next time, we'll trade bikes for an hour or so, just don't tell anyone i was on a kawasaki
