Great 2-up riding - it's about time!

So I've had nothing but horrible passengers on bikes in the past. My ex was a load on the back...and riding with her wasn't ever much fun.

I've gone to the drags with Rachel on the back, but didn't get to really RIDE (it's basically slab to the drags and back). Last night we went out for 80 miles or so of some twisties out to Rye Beach and back. Being my second ride with her on the back, I didn't get TOO carried away, but I did cruise right along and enjoy the corners. I gotta say, having a good passenger on the back makes 2-up riding VERY enjoyable! I swear it's like she's not even there. My bike's handling barely changes, too. For the first time since I got into riding on the street, I'm looking forward to doing some rides whilst 2-up!

Sorry for the rant, but it's DAMN nice to be with someone that enjoys riding and is into bikes n' shit.

NICE!
I am jealous.

Maybe i can borrow your girl sometime to see what a good passenger does so i can share it with my lady.

we went out this weekend. Turning is good. but stopping and going is tough. stopping crushes nuts and goinge gets me a parachute.

we tried having her just hang on to me tight, and her weight just keeps shifting all over the place on stops and goes.

we are working on it. someday i will have a good post about carrying a passenger.

thats what its all about, the wind in your face and boobs in your back

I gotta agree, a good passenger makes it fun, I have only had a couple of other passengers for short distance, but Bwap is an excellent pillion.
We ride 2 up in some very twisty stuff, it actually helps with a small amount of extra weight in the back, keeps the rear end down in sharp corners.
The only draw back to a passenger is in a bumpy steep down hill on the brakes..........nut muncher.

here's a lil comment for each of ya:

Josh - what no comment about teaching me how to do a burnout yet? lol I figured that story would have come about long ago!

Greg - Squeezing - pffff get ur mind outa the gutter

Brent: no you can't borrow me and about that stopping and going and crushing nuts thing..... I tend to hold myself up a lil with my hands on the tank if it's comfortable for the moment - I use to get annoyed (before Josh) by having my knuckles crushed on the tank when we'd come to a stop... her being wiggly with her weight shifting - I can't do much for ya there... she's gotta be comfy with riding as a passenger and ur riding - I can't stress that enough!

Sean - bumpy rides aren't fun for the passenger either! lol

OH YEAH! So I rode down to Rachel's the other day to get her inspection sticker...except the Boston traffic was so bad it took over 2 hours to get there, instead of one hour. Since we didn't make it to the shop before it closed, we decided to hit a local parking lot and see if she could do a burnout. Well she did! HAHAHA, HELL YES! I ripped a big donut right after that, and the guys in the yard across the street were all staring n' shit...but no issues.

Hee hee...my girlfriend can do burnouts on her motorcycle. For some reason I get a total kick outta saying that.

hold the front brake. As you let the clutch out you'll notice the forks compress, pusing down/forward on the front wheel. Push down on the bars as this happens to help it out...and let the clutch the rest of the way out. It should spin right up. If not, the front will slide and a) you'll pull the clutch in or b) you'll have a hilarious 1mph lowside in front of all your friends.

I find I don't need to rev it higher than 5k tops to get it spinning up. *shrug*
