Wed 8/10: Super d00per skip work and ride with the n00b, bike ride.

Well, finally will have most of my gear by this weekend, finished my MSF, and took next wednesday off to get in my first day of some serious riding.

Ride will leave from Greenfield, MA area, I only want a few people, not that response for this will be all that great anyways. I dont have any particular route planned, but I have some roads north into VT and west out towards NY I'd like to ride and I'm just gonna go where the road takes me.

I'm actually open to start times/places if anyone DOES want to go, show me the ropes. I'm a very new rider, and quite simply, I just want to get out and ride.

If anyones interested, I'll work out the details with whoever wants, if not, I'll just have to go get myself lost out in the Berkshires.

Well, since you put it that way....

Let me think about it...and check with my boss. I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem taking the day off. I can absolutely meet you in Greenfield. I can figure out some good routes to take too.

This'll be fun!

How's Route 2 into North Adams sound? I've been 2up on that road and it's really nice, and goes through a national forest. It starts off calm and then gets twisty.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, but I have a little sideroute off to Rt. 112 that I want to take, heads off of Rt. 2 in Shelburne Falls (next town west of greenfield) and the fun part of 112 ends at the intesection of 100 and 112 in Jacksonville, VT. 100 pretty much sucks because of the road conditions, but we could always turn it around and head back down Rt. 8a through Heath and back onto 2 in a spot that puts us about 2 miles down the road from the bottom of the fun part of Rt. 2. Pretty much when you leave Charlemont and hit Savoy is when it starts getting twisty.

I'll shoot you a PM later tonite, right now I'm on the beeper........and the beeper is calling.

Bummer....this sounds like a fun ride, but I can't get time off
next week. Boss is on vacation, so I'm at work. If you do
another ride like this the following week, I'm in.

I got 25 pics, and my route home tacked on another 35 miles, making my grand total for the day a decent 175 miles. Not bad for my 2nd long ride EVER, and in 5 days no less. lol
