Sunday - Vanilla Bean Cafe

Planning on heading there this Sunday. I'm thinking of getting there for around 11.

For the newbies to the site, here's info as to what this place is: The Bean

Anyone else planning on showing up??

I'll be the one with the orange mohawk.

Question

NYC Yamaha unveiling

Hey Fazerchic need I ask if your riding down ? There are a few guys from the R1 forum that are going to be there too. I was thinking about it.

As for the Vanilla Bean - Is there a large bike turn out Sunday? It in my state but a good distance away. Do you do breakfast/lunch there ?

Hey Andy, like Beet said, there are always lots of bikes at the Bean...especially on Sundays. For some reason, it's just a great spot for bikes to end up. I usually have breakfast/lunch while I'm there. I warn you though...it's pricey ($8 pancakes!). It's a good destination however. You ride...hang out...ride home..or ride to wherever from there! You should head up there this Sunday if you're not too busy. You are on the other side of the state, so if you want to meet up with me...you could follow?? It's up to you. Ever ridden up RT 7? I hear that's a great road all the way up into VT.

I've cruised route 7 before it's pretty good with the exceptions of the city you go though.
As for Sunday I'll have to let you know as it approches.

What's the deal with the Yamaha unveiling? Have you ever been to them before? I'm going to try to get my tires replaced before then -- Not sure about running on the plug.

I put 5000 miles on a rear plugged tire. If you did it properly then there should not be an issue. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Vanilla Bean is off of 169 correct? It's only 45 mins west of my house, maybe I'll ride there and check it out.

I've heard rumors of a ride up to the Kanc on Sunday 100+ rice. Kanc is kinda lame but the roads north of that are the real deal (guaranteed to see moose)! Makes Mohawk trail look lame. This time of year this isn't a one day trip. You would need a place to stay up there, the temps drop quick in those elevations.

I am new to the site and I live in RI. But, I have done a sh*t load of riding in northern NH. I am ALWAYS up for a weekend trip.

Andy, I rode in your group on Sunday (had the kawi). It was a great time. I am glad to see that plug held up ok.

Rumor has it, there is going to be nothing but sportbikes, no Hardley Ablesons...I think that ride is getting put on by a newly opened sportbike shop, I'll post details when I get them if anyone is interested.

Not sure of the squid factor though that will be on the Kanc this weekend. I was up there 2 weeks ago and there is major construction, probably 3 miles of 112 (kanc) is dirt, and it's all the good corners that are torn up. I have a place in the area and frequent it often, so I get a chance to explore roads that are little known.

Last Sunday I rode with the "moderate/fast" group that somehow got passed by the slow group. It was a great time, I have never riden that part of MA. I plan on riding rte. 2 atleast one more time before the winter starts.

Katana, I am always looking for someone to ride with. Keep me posted.

ChicknStripEatr - Yeap it's holding with no loss of air. I don't think I'm going to be able to get the Power Pilots on before then.
See ya there.

It's going to be the Bean on Sunday.

For future reference..... The ride to the Kanc would be EXTREMELY fun if there was enough time in the day to do the Twin Mtn. Loop. 16 north from N. Conway to 26 north then 145 north to Pittsburg NH (last stop before canada). down rte.3 (past old man in the mountain) and across 112 back to N. Conway. Last time I ran it, it took the group I was with 8 hours. Almost 300 miles, so having a base camp in Northern NH is a must. This route should definately be a priority for anyone who likes scenary and twisties. Plenty of both. If this route was to appeal to anyone, I know the area very well and could suggest places to stay for cheap $$$. This could be an ideal weekend run for a large group early next season, probably not enough time left this year to through something of this magnitude together.
