Group Ride & Pool Party/BBQ, Saturday July 22nd.

RAIN DATE: if it rains on the 22nd, and by rain I mean pouring, the rain date will be on Saturday July 29. If it rains just here and there on the 22nd, nothing too bad, the ride will still be on for that date.

We are going to ride the beautiful Berkshires Region, and then pool party/BBQ afterwards. Departure no later than 9:30 a.m. from Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield MA (1000 W. Columbus Avenue, Springfield MA 01105, off I-91). Pace will be moderate. Definition of moderate: over the speed limits on the backroads, out of towns/villages, and no triple digits. Speed limit will be observed when going thru towns/villages. We will wait for the slower riders at every road turn so NOBODY gets left behind or get lost. We will have a few rest stops, and stop for lunch. Everyone will be given a map, with marked rest stops, lunch meeting spot and traced route.

Gaz up before you get there. Planning to return before dinner around 5:00 p.m. Party/BBQ by the pool afterwards, everyone who can contribute in any way (food/donation) is appreciated. If you plan on partying hard, consider staying overnight, there is space to pick a tent, and we have a few mattresses to sleep people.

Please remember to dress appropriately, wear your riding gear!! (no shorts, sandals or t-shirt).

Sure can... Not sure if there is anyone from NH coming on this ride? Mzdagrl and Riobard maybe...there is some people from the Boston area (Eugene_a)..

Ok so the ride is one week from now. A reminder to all, bring your swim wear! Pm me if you have any questions regarding the meeting spot, time, etc. or call my cell 413-244-0155.

I will have one or two beds available in my house, along with the sofa and/or the recliners loveseats. I also have a tent installed outside that sleep 3 comfortably. You can always claim the swing outside in the backyard that transform into a bed, too...lol

Can't wait to see you guys/gals, we're gonna have tons of fun!

Isn't Rt. 20 a good 45 minutes longer than slabbing 459/Mass Pike? I might want to save that extra 45 minutes of saddle time for the Berkshires.

that's because speed can be over 80 on the pike and 55? on rt20. im just thinking lower speed safes tires but heck with it, my tire is already square. if it's that much different i might take the pike as well.

The pike is definitly faster. You don't have to go thru all the towns and get all the lights and stops signs. Just be realllll carefull about cops on the pike, they are everywhere. Someone got pulled over coming on the girls ride from Boston...they were going over 100 miles an hour (I won't say HOW fast....lol) and the cop was awsomely cool with them and only gave them a WARNING (or a small fine) for "unsafe" changing lane...ROFL!!!! (Must have been because she's a hottie, he let her go easy.... )

But you Kham...with your luck...you'd get your bike towed away... (Just teasing you)

Mmmm...went grocery shopping yesterday....there's gonna be some good grub. AND....the best part....I'm making a big batch of Sangria with Cointreau and Brandy baby....oh yeah!

no! not that one. there is one right off the exit as you're comming from north. i was thinking be there at 7am and should get us there by 9am but i didn't plan for breakfest. we can do little early if you like and can always jump on the pike whenever.

7:00am departure puts us in Springfield at 8:38am via Rt.20 or 8:05am via Rt. 90.

How about kickstands up at 7:45am from Shell and slab to Springfield on 90? That gives us 45 minutes to upload gas and download bladders before MissTwisties 9:30am departure.

If that doesn't work for everyone I'll go with your original plan.

I'll try to be at the meeting place for 9:00 a.m. myself. There is a gas station right next to the meeting point for you guys to re-fuel, use the restrooms and buy snacks.

That's an hour at less than 70mph. If you call that haulin' ass I think I can keep up.

Even I am faster than that on the highway....lol 80 is my average, keep me away from tickets. 75-80 cops don't seem to mind too much. Anything over that is asking for trouble.
