2am coastie ride (Saturday 6/14)

I'm thinking up 1A, real relaxed pace since 1A gets a bit hairy between Hampton and Portsmouth w/ some of those hairpin curves. If it's clear weather, the scenery should be pretty cool, moonlight should be fairly abundant.

This sounds interesting. I would think you wanna fly pretty stealth through this beach community at 2am though. A pack of loud bikes would be sure to get the phones ringing down at the Rye PD.

My bike is pretty quiet, I may be up for some shenanigans! Just don't want a run-in with this guy.

meet at 2 at the Mobil on the Run in Salisbury, MA right off exit 60 off Rt. 95N. Real easy to find. As soon as you come off the exit, keep looking right, you'll see it. Turn the bikes on and add some throttle to push off and start riding by 2:30am.

from:West Newbury, MA to:42.869296,-70.883811 to:65 Main St. Salisbury, MA - Google Maps

google/maps has the location of the right address wrong. If you look at the map, zoom in so you're just looking at the northern most part of the purple directional line. It comes off exit 60 from Rt. 95, takes a quick right and that parking lot/building that the green destination "B" is in front of is the Mobil on the Run.

If we keep it sorta at the speed limit, we should be fine in terms of not being bothered by police. They'll have plenty of other things to do at 2am after a friday evening still.

I'm not in for this however this seems like it would be a damn jolly good time. NESR needs more of these and less of that poser shit.......no offense to the diehard poser on here....

Good luck and be careful.

Re: 2am coastie ride (Saturday 6/14)

If this is for real, I might join ya.

Biggest problem I typically have with rides like this is drunk dodging, they are totally unpredictable moreso regular cagers....when combined with reaction times on cold(er)/condensating asphalt can suck.

Dammit I think I'm out. Got called way too early for work this am and sleep is not in the forecast today. I've gotta keep an eye on these threads so I can prepare better for next time.

Re: 2am coastie ride (Saturday 6/14)

Alright, so do I have enough interest from other members for this ride tonight??? I don't think the drunk driver dodging should be too bad of a problem. Most of the roads are fairly well out of the way of bars and the drunks most likely won't be taking them to get where they need to go... Post up and let me know if I need to take a nap this evening or not!

Obviously but just a reminder to watch out for animals at night. With little traffic at night, they seems to frolic anywhere including roads.

Re: 2am coastie ride (Saturday 6/14)

alright, I'm making an executive decision on this one.

RIDE FOR TONIGHT IS CANCELED.

I'm freakin' beat, don't have enough definites, and it's supposed to get down into the 40's around here, which means close to the 30's on the coast.

THIS RIDE WILL HAPPEN SOON THOUGH!

I'll post up the date well in advance so people can make plans for it. It definitely should be a good ride, and I want a decent turn out, and some warmer weather in order to fully enjoy it. Until then!
