2nd annual Run for the Hills, Sept 27-28 Mt. Snow VT

Just wanted to give folks an early heads up for the 2nd annual Run For The Hills weekend and bike show held at Mt. Snow, Vermont - this year on the weekend of Sept 27-28.

The inaugural event was a big hit last year and the organizers are promising even more to do this year.

The idea is to ride in on Friday or Saturday - then on Saturday many people go out for rides, the roads around this part of VT and north are fantastic, we had a group (among others) of 7 Ducks last year and what a ride - OR - there is a bike show at the mountain featuring all kinds of makes and models (the event is a European bike meet on paper, but there was everything from old HDs to new 999s on the lot last year). There are also events for family members who do not ride, trips to the top of Mt. Snow via the ski lifts, lift-accessed mountain biking on the ski trails, kids rides and an outdoor BBQ.

Saturday night everyone meets at the bar and then sits down for a steak, prime rib and/or Lobster dinner. The bar stays open LATE and people meet again on Sunday for brunch and to ride more or disperse.

This event was put together as a labor of love by a guy named Chuck French who rides a Ducati SS and works as a ski instructor in the cold months. It is a rider's event. Special rates will be made available in both mountain hotels, the Grand Jordan (new and nice) or the Ski Lodge (be as loud as you want). I'll post more details when the info hits the Mt. Snow website.

So get your riding buddies or families together for a great weekend of shredding the roads, eating, drinking and taking in the beautiful leaf season scenery. You won't regret it.

For sure, this event is not to be missed! Chuck is an awesome guy who absolutely LOVES to ride and pulls together a ton of cool stuff.

AND, since he's a graphics guy, he can take care of all your custom graphics needs!

Go to www.mountsnow.com and into their events calendar for September for all the lodging info and updates on what's being set up.

Bring friends - the more, the merrier!

hotel info

Accomodations can be had at the mountain in two forms, nice but more expensive and cheap but beat, for details:

Run for the Hills Special Lodging Package is available by calling 1-800-451-4211.

I'm going for the pricier room at the mtn. My thinking is that the more money Mt. Snow makes, the more likely this event will continue for years to come. Also, my bike has more of an ass pad than a seat.

There's also the option of grabbing a cheap motel in Wilmington. I usually stay at the Viking Motel for quick, cheap overnights. Best benefit is walking distance to the bars.

I will be staying at my house, which is about 3-miles from the mtn - 2-miles up the east side of the valley.

I will be the brown-haired/brown-eyed girl on a fully faired red/white/blue ex500 that everyone mistakes for a 250. Red/white/blue helmet too.

When are you coming over - fri or sat? staying all weekend?
