I need to head up to Center Harbor, NH on Thursday afternoon. This is an overnight biz trip but I want to take a semi scenic route from Newton, MA...I will be coming back Friday afternoon....looking for suggestions from the knowledgeable routemeisters....post here or PM.

I know a guy that commutes from Moultonboro Neck (just a little further than Center Harbor) to Cambridge every day. Bet he'd know all the good routes.

Are you dead set on route 13? And are you taking the bike?

If you don't mind a little side trip off 119, I can show you some utterly fantastic roads on my way home from work Thursday afternoon. I work about 1.5 miles from 119 in Westford MA and commute to Raymond NH.

Actually, if you intend to take 107 north (a great bike road but a smidge out of your way), I can bring you right to it in Raymond via 50 miles or so of great back roads (from Westford).

Listen to Stoinky. Route 107 from like, Deerfield all the way up to Laconia is great. One route, great road, easy to pass, very little traffic during the day. 107 south of Deerfield can be a drag though. But I'd rather take that than route 13. 13's got it's bright spots, but it just keeps getting beat up by the winters and all the traffic it sees now. Plus, 107's a little easier to follow than route 13 is. Especially through Milford & Goffstown and Weare. It (13) gets kinda hokey at a coupla so-called intersections...

Id' be bringing you to 107 near the Deerfeild border, so basically it'd be all great roads from Westford MA on up. There's one road in particular that will have you saying "holy shit!". It's an amazing little ribbon of pavement.
