Laconia MC Week Ride??

Hi all,

Last year I rode up with a bunch of riders from this site (I believe) and I was wondering if the same group was going up again?

We met in Manchester at a pizza place and took back roads up last year. I just remember a couple people's names. There was a guy who was going to become (or was) a Manchester cop named Al (I think) and another Alex who drove up from South Shore, MA on his blue GSXR to meet us. If you were in this group last year and you guys plan on meeting again this year let me know when and where I'd like to join in.

If there are other groups going let me know too, maybe we can get a bigger group than last year!!

-Dave

Well, if you were in the group it is most likely because after a few beers the rest of the guys took their bikes to the broken spoke to screw with the Harley crowd...I don't know what happen when they got there, maybe their memories were erased by multiple blows to the head or additional beer intake.

i was on that ride. we met at pappys in manchester. i fried in the sun with my gear on. honestly i thought we were going to ride alot more than watch the harly skanks from one of the overcrowded bars.
i think i'll skip it this year. the site your thinking of is sportriders btw.

I was going to post over there too but that site almost looks dead. Maybe I still should post there too.

I would be up for more riding this year too. Last year I had packed stuff to stay up there for 3 days and ended up leaving the next morning at 8 am!!! This year I'll be riding light...

I'll be up there with a bunch of cruisers (my dad and his work buddies) on Wednesday for the hillclimbs and Friday we're going up again to hit the Kanc and hang out at the Wiers. Anyone else going to the hillclimbs?

I have that week off, and plan on taking in as much as possible this year. We've scrapped Stonnerstock this year so we can enjoy as much as possible (hillclimbs included)...

We live about 20 min. from Weirs Beach, Laconia & Concord, just off route 28. If any of you clowns are heading up THAT way, shoot me a PM & give me some notice. We'll try to hook up...

Yeah, I'm doing that early this year. Probably Tuesday to avoid the traffic mess that happens later in the week. They do bike only on Wednesday this year, I think. DEFINITELY don't wanna follow that Harley train up. It's far cooler when there's no traffic going up the Auto Road. It's a fargin' BLAST to fire your way up!

Personally, I think the whole Weirs beach thing is an incredible waste of time. You spend hours in traffic while the heat from the sun and your bike roasts your ass. While at Weirs, all you will see are a bunch of cottage-cheese assed skanks with bikinis way too small for their less than flattering figures. Additionally, you will see Harley/crusier dudes in their wife-beater t-shirts thinking that they are so damn cool. You may see a few drunks puking all over themselves. Or, if you're really lucky, you will park in a spot that you think is legal only to return to that spot and find that you and all of your friends bikes have been towed and you need to walk 2 miles to pay $100+ to get it out of impound which is another 2 miles away.

I will be going to the races at the track on Saturday and Sunday. I live only about 20 min. from the track, so if anyone is interested in watching some professional road racing, let me know.

the racing is all i'd be interested in. for every hottie at weirs there's 100 more skanks. plus 5 millon hammerheads riding cromey drag pipers

Dammit!! I was going to do the first half of the hillclimbs (i love watching the young uns' )then climb that other "hill" Wednesday.

Now I have to change up my schedule. My friends wife is only having time Wednesday and wanted to do both, but we don't want to follow the hardly Ableson's oil slicks up the pile o' rocks.

Woops! My bad. According to www.laconiamcweek.com the BIKE ONLY thing for Mt. Washington is on Thursday. I'll probably still shoot for doing it Tuesday though. My wife & I told our daughters they could stay home from school and we'd take 'em to spend the day at Gunstock to watch the hillclimbs Wednesday...

Plus, me missus has NO desire to RIDE up the Rock Pile and doesn't have Tuesday off...

I've avoided all thing Weirs Beach for the last few years now. Honestly, I actually miss the spectacle of it. I'll be making a run through at least once towards the end of the week to take in the very things you mentioned. It's part of the whole Race & Rally Week experience, in my opinion...

Like I always say Jay..I go to bike week to hang out down the Weirs.. if I wanted to ride twisties I'd head up there any other weekend.. NOT the weekend that tons of other bikes were there clogging up the roads. And as usual I'll poke my head into the ol Stoner establishment for a few hours at least one day.
