Would anyone be interested in heading down there on a Sunday in the future? For anyone that's not familiar, it is a destination for bikes - like the Bean. Anyone? Anyone?

I have been interested in making that trip for a while.
Don't they do a big shin-dig once a year?
Or was that cancelled and then back on again?
I got confused so I stopped thinking about it.
I guess the weekend gatherings are still good.
I would still like to go check it out.

They do still have the big shindig. However, the events have been moved to a nearby college. It was actually a few weeks ago. I went and it pretty much sucked - mostly hardley crap. Plus, it cost $15 to get it. LAME!! We scored free tix from a guy in the parking lot. Next year I will just check out the bikes in the parking lots and blow off the show. We did have breakfast at Marcus Dairy before heading over to the show. There were tons of bikes there, as expected. Bikes are there pretty much every Sunday.

Here's the link to the show from a few weeks ago:

I'm coming from Enfield - right on the Mass border. 91 runs right through my town. Not too familiar with routes running down there...usually just take the highway. Damn, you're by the bean? I'll let you know next time I head out there - should be this Sunday!

The Fazer is still sitting in the garage. It will be registered tomorrow. Took the Ninja to work today for the last time. It "should" be sold this weekend. Just waiting for the buyers to come through. I'm hoping they pick it up on Saturday, otherwise no Bean for me on Sunday.

I am waiting to hear from a friend on riding this Sunday 8/7
Might be heading to Mystic area for a ride/cruise with him.
Although, he loves the Bean, so he might want to come up
this way. I'll let you know.

As far as Enfield goes.......
We could meet some where on Rte 6
in Manchester. Rte 6 goes all the way to Danbury.
Rte 6 is not all that exciting, but it'll get us all the way to Danbury
Any other ideas?

I am bored here at work.
So I am researching a route from here to Danbury.

Rte 44 from Pomfret, North Eastern CT
to
Rte 202 in Avon, we can meet at that intersection.

Rte 202 goes all the way to Danbury
Looks much nicer than Rte 6

Just a thought

Rte 44 in Avon is where they had that huge fatal accident the other day. I work right down the street from there. The road is hilly, curvy - it's a nice road for the most part. Perhaps we could meet at Avon Old Farms hotel.

I Heard about that accident....Horrible

Never been in Avon
But I am looking forward to it.
Is Avon Old Farms hotel on 44?

Have we met at the Bean before?
I have met a girl from this forum
on a short ride at the Bean, but she
was not riding that day, she was on
the back of an FZ1?
Anyway....I marked Aug 21 on the calendar
I am way over due for a Sunday ride.

DUDE!! That HAD to be me!! Man God owns an FZ1. When was this?? I don't remember. Ugh.

Actually, a better place to meet would be at Double Down Grill - it's right on the intersection of 44 and 202. It's a bar/restaurant.

Great....
Double Down it is.

Yes...You on the FZ1 with Man God
It was a ride with Ibanez up front, and another rider,
and the roads were covered in leaves and tree limbs
because of heavy rains the night before.
I was riding in front of you and your Man God, on the Silver VFR.
I had just gotten it back from my accident, so it must have
been late August 2004.
You have to remember my Helmet, see Avatar

That's right! I remember that ride...right after that major storm. Yeah, sticks all over the road...nasty stuff. How could I forget that day. It was the end of last year in the fall sometime.

I'd be willing to check this out sometime. It's been a few years
since I've been to visit Marcus at the dairy.....Let's get a few
riders, plan a twisty route(if possible), and do it.
What type of a pace were you considring for this ride?

Knee draggin', peg scraping, full bore speeding.

J/K....my husband got busted big time last year, so I'm trying to keep his pace in check this year. In other words, not too fast.

Not too slow, but not too fast. Within reason, but not too much over the speed limit. He got in BIG trouble...we're talking he had to go to court. So now I want him to save the speed for the track where it belongs.

I was going up a hill this was curvy following an R1 and the cop came over the hill and nailed us with the instant-on radar. I went to court and got off on a CWOF and a few fees to get rid of the probation. It cost me $750.00 when it was all said and done. I got a sweet deal on my lawyer because he was the cousin of the R1 rider and he split the fee between us.
