Friday Before Big Ride

OK... thought I'd start a thread just to hammer out Fri night plans for those staying in the Springfield Area.

Option 1 is to meet up at one of the many restaurants in West Springfield. Obviously, on a Friday night they will all be pretty busy... but depending how many we have, that may still work out. This may be easiest if lots of people are staying on the Route 5/Riverdale Road area of west springfield.

Option 2 is to hang at my place... if we're not talking more than 10 or 20 people. I'd be happy to supply the burgers/dogs/chips as I have plenty left over from summer parties. It's no trouble because I will just leave the grill going so people can just help themselves as they arrive.

As for booze/beverages, give me an order by Friday and I'll pick it up so you don't have to deal with it on your bike. (I have Friday off so it's no sweat). Sorry, but you'll have to pay for your own booze.

I don't care either way. I'm happy to let people hang at my place... and if everyone wants to meet in West Springfield, then I'm certainly going to join you all there.

So....

If you are coming in to town Friday, please post answers to the following:

What time are you arriving?

Where are you staying?

Which is your preference for hanging out?

Do you play poker? (even if we end up on the strip in West Springfield, we can get a game going at one of the Hotel Rooms)

I'm psyched... this should be fun regardless of where we end up.

I vote for backyard BBQ, I'll be available and would be happy to come down, regardless of the location. I love my food be it home-made or restaurant cooked.

There is a group of us staying at the same motel and heading out somewhere for dinner then some drinks somewhere off route 20.

When I get more info I will post it.. Pretty sure we will end up at Boston Billiards after dinner!

sounds like the general consensus is to go out for food and drinks for the night. how's the back? are you mobile?

What time are you arriving? 4-5pm I think

Where are you staying? Wilbraham Motel

Which is your preference for hanging out? No preference but sticking with the group would be fun

Do you play poker? Yup!

Going out is fine by me.

I'm fairly mobile (mostly due to drugs).

I'd love to play pool, but bending over like that just ain't gonna happen... but I'm fine with hanging there for a few beverages.

OK... sounds like hitting someplace in West Springfield is the preferred choice.

Boston Billiards, along with many restaurants, are all located within a 1 mile strip.

For those staying at the Wilbraham Motel, you're welcome to ride with me in my truck... or follow me on your bikes... if you're not sure how to get down there.

FYI, there's a Bertuccis restaurant next door to Boston Billiards in West Springfield.

Calling ahead to get on the list would be a good idea for any popular place around there.

Which hotel? The Hampton Inn in W. Springfield is literally within walking distance to Boston Billiards.

There's a hotel in Wilbraham? I did not know that.

(that's right near Rt.20, and not much else)

The motel to my house... about 8 minutes.

The motel to "the strip"... about 20 minutes.

No problem picking you up... anyone else staying at the motel with you?

T.

I am staying at Springfield Howard Johnson Express on 1356 Boston Road. Exit #7 It is 1.5 miles from the WiIlbraham motel. The people there told me that there are a few places to eat next door and within a 5 minute walk:
Horizons
Smokey Bones
Ruby Tuesday
Olive Garden
Pizzeria Uno
Ground Round

Note: If anyone needs a room let me know, I ended up with a room with 2 double beds.

Correct...there are tons of restaurants near the HOJO and Wilbraham Motel.

That might be another option for those of you not staying in WestSpringfield...all getting together and going to one of the places you listed.

Definitely would cut down on travel.

so many options.....

Smokey Bones is a really good restaurant, their baby back ribs are to die for...and they also have pool tables, and TV screen all over.

Bones is good...but if you want ribs, go to the Texas RoadHouse at the Allen and Cooley intersection.

When I know what you guys are doing, I'll let you know if I'll be making it. If you are just going to wing when you get down there, I'll have to get a cell # from someone and track you all down.
