Deal's Gap Transportation Plans

So myself and mark are leaving around 6:00pm on friday night. We're gunna drive straight through the night and the next day all the way to the house.

I heard that some of you guys are staying over at the Budget Inn in Bristol like usual.

Who is leaving when?

Also, what route is everyone taking? Mike and myself took a different route through ashville last year in September and it worked out pretty well.

I have no idea about route. I'm going to plan on leaving here around 3 or as soon as I can duck out of work. i'm driving down with my friend mike and we're going to catch a little sleep at my cousin's place outside of DC.

Jamie, Bruce and myself will be leaving Friday morning, and yes we are staying in Bristol that night as long as Jamie reserved it???

If anybody wants to print out planned route I have from previous trips let me know. I can e-mail them to you.. Drop me an E-mail.My E-mail

This time on our trip we will not be picking up any strays in Ashville. That dude was wierd, I think he was gay.. What was with that fucked up hair cut he left with, an odd looking mohawk of some sorts. Wonder what kind of drugs he was on?
I am taking my ussual routes.

[ Directions To Deals Gap Houses

1. I-90 (Mass Pike) West
2. 84 South
3. 684 South
4. 287/87N Towards the Tappanzee Bridge
5. After Tappanzee Bridge break off from 87 and continue on 287 South.
6. 78 West, 78 eventually joins with 22 West, follow 78 after 22 breaks off.
7. 81 South

There are two options from here.
1. Take 40 West towards Knoxville
2. 66 South , this changes to 441 South cont.
3. 74 / 19 West
4. 129 North Follow map to the house. Which is as follows.
5. left onto 143

Option 2: From 81 South
1.40 East towards Ashville
2. 74 East
3. 129 North
4. Left onto 143 West

The Tree tops house is on 143 about 8 miles in, you can not see the house from the road. It’s a dirt driveway on the right. Look for the Blue Boar Inn sign after you cross a bridge, about 7/10’s of a mile it’s the first driveway, you will see a row of mailboxes (3 or 4?) If you come to the entrance of the Snowbird lodge or the sign for the Cherohala you went too far. Go to the second house, bear left up the hill to the first driveway.

The Ridge, take the next driveway after Tree tops. Folow the driveway past the first house, bear right, at next V bear left and this should bring you up to the Ridge house and the Large Garage/Rec building. ]

There were two spots were we hit traffic.
NY by the Tapanzee, and somewhere in Virginia they were doing road construction. Other than that it was clear sailing if I remember correctly?

Is there a site that can check updates on routes for construction other than AAA seeing I am not a member.... Maybe I'll go sign up with AAA before we leave.

I think it was actually in PA where we hit the traffic, right past Bethlehem in Allentown. The construction shouldn't be bad anymore.

If we leave early Friday we will hit morning commuters somewhere along the trip no matter what. What time would youz two want to leave? I think Bri's crew is probably leaving at the ass crack of the morn. I was thinking like 8 from Jamie's house.

Bruce you are going to have to meet me at Jamie's house Thursday afternoon to load up. I want to do this once, in one location. Also you will have to meet us at Jamie's Friday morning. Jamie is Bruces vehicle ok to leave there for the week?

Hmmm, Just a thought......Jamies house is in Waltham and thats the furthest from 84. I can bring it there to load, no problem. But leaving from there? Kinda doesnt make sense. But whatever works for me. You can leave your truck at my house and get Beemer as a loaner if you like.

How about everybody come to my house.

Only problem is you can not leave your vehicles, unless you park it way out back, but I wouldn't even leave my car back there with that one specific neighbor that is on the other side of the fence.....

actually I just thought of this. We can leave a car at my mothers house if we need to, she is literally right around the corner....

I think your place is more central and if my car gets stolen even better. I would make out on that deal. Especially if I left the Jeep there. Who pays more for a gas guzzling SUV than the ins company.

But anyway as far as time goes I am up early anyway so we can leave whenever. 7, 8, 9....doesnt matter.

We left last year at 7:30 PM. We arrived at the house about 3:30pm the following day. That makes it roughly 17-18 hours. It's a shitload of driving.

13-15 non-stop with absolutely no congested traffic, short stops combining food/gas/bathroom/stretching breaks. (If KB is with you the bathroom breaks can take up to 25 minutes! Be sure to use the bathroom before he does!!!!)

Myself and Sidewinder may it there with only 15.5 hours of drive time with my exploder hauling an small two bike trailer a few years back..

I really like the idea of leaving from my house! It works perfect for me!

Actually Mike if I can load the bike and stuff at my place that will help me out a ton. I will even grab dinner for ya from Carl's...the cheesesteaks guys, the best cheesesteak you will ever have. Then I will find a way to your place Friday morning. As for departure time, I would say 8 or 9 on the road

I hope your trip tix has gas stops on it every 200 miles, cuz that's my fuel range when towing

I get about 250 towin an samurai, I sure hope it's a bit better with a small enclosed trailer and a KLR.

Hopefully if you guys leave around the same time we do we can meet up on the way down.

Bruce and Jamie:
Here is how it's going to have to work. Time is running short.
I have a very busy week and just cannot make everyone happy.

My suggestion is to get everything ready and packed up Thursday night at my house! Then go grab food and a few cold ones Both of you are going to have to get your bikes and things to my house Thursday night or we will have to do everything Friday morning. Thurday night is preffered.

Loading Thursday night would have to be around 6.
What time should we head out Friday morning? I am thinking around 7 if we want to get to Bristol somewhat early.
