Planning a big big ride September 10th (before the leaf peepers come out)

you want it back up to 450? I don't mind, I'll make it longer again, i just thought some people might want a shorter day.

What's the concensus of opinion?

That's probably a good question to ask at lunch. I'll probably be up for 450 but I know there will be others coming from farther away that may have 60 miles on the odometer before the ride and add another 60 after the ride.

I did a 300 mile ride on my bike couple weeks back, and it got pretty painful after a while. But I was having so much fun, it was kind of blocking out the pain a little bit.

If the weather holds out I would be up for the 450! Last year we did approx 400 from Greenfield and I rode to Greenfield from Auburn. Can't get enough!

Check the route out on the ride page. I have lengethened it again, but halfway through it almost doubles back on itself, so people can cut across and shorten the route to their liking.

I am out being 90 from start point at 8 for a 1 day

Just to let you know 2 weeks ago 100 south was 5 to 6 miles of dirt up to 17 cut off. There was a good deal of traffic there too mid afternoon.

You might stay on 89 to richmond then plot a course to the back side of 17E back to 100

I assume you are on 89 as the Barre Montepelier road not fun.
Rt 2 west of Montpelier is OK too but you pass a LEO nest.

Enjoy

Would love to find out when you think you might be in the vicinity of route 100 / route 17 / lunch so I can rendezvous for a little of the riding.

Wear a regular jacket and layer underneath it. I've ridden in 20 degree weather in my regular leathers for hours on end without being uncomfortable, its all about layering.

Hey guys, I am out for the ride :-(. I was pretty up in the air with the length plus the start point ride for me and the weather for the day (I am not a cold weather riding fan), but yesterday did me in. A guy slammed into the back of my bike in a pick up truck. Looks like minimal damage, but I cant get it in the shop till Monday and that is a bit too long of a test ride. The prick took off too, hit and run. Luckily I got the plate and the cops got the slime ball. Hope to be back up and running for next weekend. You all have fun and ride safe!!!
