So Jenks and I are planning on going for a spin friday evening, maybe a meet up somewhere around portsmouth, RI at about 5pm and then a nice cruisey ride into newport. I'm thinking around the drive and then see what people are up for. I know of some real nice twisty backroads off an exit past jamestown, through exeter but it's not something you'd want to hit after dark.

Just wanted to see if there was some interest for a few more to tag along. I ride almost everyday and have been riding solo so I thought it'd be cool to meet some people and get a little RI ride going.

Post that route on Grouprider.com. I blast a lot of the roads on the other side of 138, I am out there quite frequently actually. I grew up in the East Bay, I try to stay off of Aquidneck Island now on the bike. I am not a fan of sitting in traffic. I ride with a few guys from out that way. They enjoy the western half of the state a lot more as well. The one downfall, it doesn't have the "sights" that Newport has.......and you know what I am talking about.

ok take two. Im going to let me route this mofo because my computer doesn't like me making a route. So we will see if he knows how if not maybe he can give the route to you Ryan and you can plot it. Plus add what ever else sounds fun

Sorry I haven't been tending to the post, I've been out all day.

I wasn't on grouprider, but I registered... to be honest im not the best with maps, and I'm not 100% on all the road names, but I know the route - hell, the way my buddy and I found this we were just winging it anyway.

Here's the deal, unless anyone has a better meeting place I'd like to say meet at the dunkin donuts on west main road in portsmouth at 4pm. We'll head down the newport way via backroads to avoid traffic, if we want to hit the city we can for a minute, or just head over the bridge. We'll be taking the exit after the bridge off of jamestown into north kingston. There's a right turn off just after that exit and it turns into some great twisty backroads. My route will take us out onto the beginning of 95 heading into providence, so everyone can highway their way home that needs to. I need to be back in portsmouth for 8:30 or so.

Or if anyone has a good solid route they'd like to take us on, that's fine, I'm not dead set on this I just wanted to get a little group ride going.

So: dunkin donuts on west main in portsmouth at 4pm if you guys are down?

Edit: I'm also going over my buddies who I rode out there with, he's lived here longer so he'll have the specific route. I'll update later with it.
