TRACTION MANAGEMENT AND MOTORCYCLE PHYSICS

Time: 12:30PM to 4:30PM

Managing traction is critical for keeping your motorcycle on two wheels. A rider who understands the ins and outs of traction management is much more likely to successfully handle difficult situations. It’s also helpful to understand motorcycle chassis dynamics, because invisible forces and gravity push and pull on the motorcycle when the brakes are applied or the handlebars are turned. It’s important to understand how these forces impact traction and handling.

Join veteran instructor, racer and contributing editor for Motorcycle Consumer News, Ken Condon for a 4 hour course in the how and why of traction management and basic motorcycle physics.

Topics will include:

Understanding traction consumers
Identifying situations that compromise traction
Actions that preserve traction

Also:

Basic motorcycle dynamics
How motorcycle geometry affects handling
