F1 Boston (kart racing) anyone?

SteveCBR909rr and i went last sunday and had a blast. Not sure if any of you other guys here are interested. Its getting colder and colder out there so instead of my typical "weekend rides" i'll usually go karting or paintballing.

But for those who haven't gone to F1 more info here ; www.f1boston.com

$25 bux a race

and you need to either do day license ($10) or year license ($25).

If enough people are interested i can reserve the track, but it needs to be prepaid for every person attending. For me ~2 races usually is enough. It'll be safe to say once the weather starts really going down the drain, i'll be at F1 to keep myself busy on the weekends.

You don't know what you are missing.

I am always up for tearing up the 2 tracks. When I go I end up doing 4 races @ $80. 2 races on track 1 and 2 on track 2. Let me know when things might go down. I should be able to wrangle up a few others.

I'm pissed they got rid of $20/20 Lap Sundays I used to go there all the time.... My personal best was a low 19.... almost broke into the 18's a couple times.

Sucks it's so much more expensive per lap now. 25 bucks for 15 lap races on track 1 now, right?

Yeah i was PISSED that they removed it. But the only reason they had it in the first place was because Racing America (another karting place in foxboro) was doing, but unfortunately they got shut down by the IRS/City or something. So now that F1 has no competition they went ahead and went back to their old pricing.

But yeah when i did a few small leagues at f1, my avg was about low 20's, mid 19's when i had a "rythm" going.

But c'mon guys those who have never gone have got to try karting at least once.

I agree. It's worth it, at least to try. Last time I went there with a group of 16 and we had the track no.1 reserved. Not sure for how long, but they split us into 2 groups. Each group got 2 times to ride ( not sure about laps - but it was around 15 for 1 time I think ) Then they dropped two last position drivers of each team and let us all run the final round. So those who made to at least 6 th place in their group got to ride a 3rd round. Not too bad for 56 bucks each.

I think the last official nesr gathering at F1 resulted in a bumper car session I still gotta get Bryan back for passing me under Yellow when i lead 18 of 20 laps... woulda got second but I bumped him and had to sit in the penalty box

last NESR F-1 Boston gathering i went to resulted in an Oxx vs M.P. "bumper car" match in the pool haul... man, that was ugly

That was before MP got banned from drinking Crown Royal... and for good reason

How about a PRE-xmas NESR f1 bash? Maybe the 16th (2 weeks from now)?

I beg to differ about fat guys having a disadvantage, i've got a 300lb buddy that can rip 19-20sec laps on a good day. Skinny guys like me also have a disadvantage because we don't grip as well on corners but make up for it on acceleration.

I think it goes without saying i can make the 16th. This would be the balls if alot of people from here went. If we can't do it on 2 wheel's let's make it 4.

P.S. nice ride today "D",...as usual.

Sure, somebody drive me, and I'll get drunk and smash go karts into stuff. Or.....at least count me in for somewhat sober kart driving.

they've got strict rules about that stuff... when you walk in the door you get a wristband... can't race w/o the wristband... you order a drink & they cut it off... or at least that's how it's supposed to work.
