Calabogie - a few pics.....

Just came back from 2 days at Calbogie. I have ridden NHMS, Barber, all of VIR, Summit Point Patriot and Main, Beaver Run and Grattan...

Calabogie is the most fun track I have been on. If you get a chance to go...go.

May not be as fun as Mid Ohio or Road America for Liter bikes. Pretty technical...but I don't have a liter bike so couldn't really say!

It took us about 8 hours but we really dawdled. I could probably make it in 5 from my house....!

Here are a few pics:

We stayed at Jockos. 5 of us in a Chalet, 4 more in the Lake House and a couple others in the Motel across the street. There are several similar places within a 10 minute ride from the track....several right on Calabogie Lake which is very nice!

From our Chalet...

Our Chalet...

Fast chic...!

BatBike at rest...

Track Map....left part of track is called 'The Bone' and the right part is called 'The Goose'

Looking up 16, 17 and 18

Temptation....

Temptation or Hook...?

That's great! Do they have electricity or water in the pits yet? Do you think you'll make it back up this year? Me and a few buddies are talking about getting up there later this summer. That's a nice view from Jockos after a long day at the track, can't wait to get back there.

I used to live about 45 minutes east of the track.
I'm glad to see it has turned out well for visitors etc.
It was big news when it was proposed years ago and a few friends even managed to run the track when it was still dirt and gravel.

The bathrooms are still under construction but they said the 'have' to be done in about 3 weeks for some event. There wasn't any power available but they do have WIFI!

If I can find a couple of back to back track days up there again this summer...that fits with my really crammed schedule already...I will go! I have my CST (Canadian Sport Tour) leaving a week from tomorrow, 3 days at Grattan at the end of July, MotoGP in Sept. (no...I'm NOT racing in it...), and a Motomarket and Fishtail day somewhere in there too. Oh, and NJ Thunder Track in October. Wow!!!

Nice pics. Are there trackdays that combine the bone and the goose?

Oh yes....didn't mean to imply that they were two separate tracks. (Though they can be!) Our track days were both....3.025 miles or somewhere near. Long track, tricky as hell in places, but once you begin to get it sorted out, an absolute riot!

And the whole staff there, starting with Dan Henry, are fantastic!

Did you run out of gas, thats a long ass track. When I was there it rained half day but still had fun. There was a guy name Dan there who did the exhuast decibel test I think he held the best laptime at calabogie. He was a real nice guy.

Yeah...Dan Henry...awesome guy! Runs Canadian Superbike and I think he does have the lap record. He dragged me around for a few laps which was a huge helo. Some of the lines simply aren't intuitive!
