Hey sorry I missed the ride and party. My CEL came on and it had me worried. Turns out it was just something idle related that I already knew was kind of odd/off but was still very rideable.

Re: Sat. July 26, Berkshires Ride & Party!

A HUGE thanks to everyone for the ride. And especially Stephan (hope I got the spelling right) for staying with us and riding with on the way home, Jackie, for bringing us water when we were a bit parched, and Rob for putting up with all the looks while riding me bitch. Pics of the damage and the culprit (BTW, for those not on the ride, I hit a pothole while in a right-hand lean, damaged both rims [the back beyond repair], and blew out the rear tire. I didn't go down, but was a little shaken up.):
The rear, TOAST!

The front, small straight-spot

And the "hole" I hit

Ouch. I would be shaken up too. That looks like a nasty bend in the rear.

Re: Sat. July 26, Berkshires Ride & Party!

Chuck I got questions?

How did you get the bike home?

Did some one come from DPW and add the crush stone or was it like that?

I ask only ecuase I hit one a lot deeper than that appears....shook the hell out of me and put a "slight" bend in the front rim lioke yours. But man that rear rim is amazing!!! Glad you kept it upright!!!

That right there is my argument for always wearing the full leathers but in this heat I just can't. In fact I was riding with just a shirt, jeans and boots Saturday and felt vulnerable.

Fucking A Chuck that blows!

-Chuck knows how to ride his shit - that and a little luck probably kept him upright-

Good stuff buddy I hope you're able to get some new rims and shoes soon. DPW should be paying for your shit. They do this for cages when one of their boo boo's ends up breaking an axle or fubar-in' a rim, so there's no reason they shouldn't for you.

Edit: Nice cone though, eh? ...fuckers.

I haven't yet, it's still out in Williamstown, MA. See thread:

The hole is as it is. Not sure who put the stone in the hole. Must have been the DPW

Thanks. The air completely went out as I hit the hole. I head a short blast of air, then the rear got a little squirrely. I think I'm actually EXTREMELY lucky that the shot to the rear rim was taken right at one of the spokes, or the rim could possibly have folded.

I was in full gear yesterday, leather jacket & pants, Sidi boots, gauntlet gloves, and naturally helmet.

Yeah, the cone was on the inside of the hole and not at the edge of it. It was a right-hander and uphill, so you couldn't see the cone until you were on top of it. Rob JUST missed the hole and I blasted right through it. Guess I was a bit too far inside.

Re: Sat. July 26, Berkshires Ride & Party!

Thanks everyone who came on the ride and/or made the party afterwards. I had a great time with you all. 22 bikes showed up in the morning. Everything went so well, the group stayed together, good pace; not too slow, not too fast. Lunch was a pain...

Then when the guys were having fun ripping the twisties on Rte 2/Taconic Trail in NY (right across from MA border), Chuck had a little incident...he hit a pothole, bent both his rims, the back one is completly messed up. I think everyone will agree that we were glad he didn't crash the bike and didn't get hurt! So we had to cut the ride and go home after this whole ordeal, too bad but the important thing is nobody got hurt.

ALSO...I was feeling bad when I noticed Rob, Chuck and a few others got separated from the group for a few minutes when the other riders were not looking out for them. I couldn't see anything way in the back, and when you guys arrived at the parking lot at the bottom of Rte 2 and yelled at people, I didn't want to stop you from being pissed off, because you were damn right. If I had spoken, nobody would listen...LOL This was hopefully, a good piece of education for some.

Party was a lot of fun, for once I took the time to enjoy to be with everyone, since I had prepared everything the night before. It was very nice meeting new faces, Jackie, Jenna, Shawn, Jonathon, Greg, Ryan, etc. It was awsome to see the old faces too such as Rob, Chuck, Gary, etc. I hope everyone had fun as well! I'm beat now...hopefully will get to bed early tonight.

Re: Sat. July 26, Berkshires Ride & Party!

Thanks again for organizing this ride V, I had a great time and thank you so much for letting us NH folks crash at your house because 2 hours on the slab after a day of riding would have SUCKED!! Those "passed out pics" are too damn funny, can't wait til Jackie sees the cooter pic. It was nice meeting/riding with everyone and good luck with the rims/tires chuck we are all glad you managed to keep it rubber side down.

eta
ps thanks for the new avatar V

Thanks a ton Veronica for the whole trip. Unfortunately I missed the afterpart and I am sure it was cool. I went straight to Boston to catchup with some friends. Will definitely stay for the next party! You forgot my name fromthe list Or was it not nice to meet me?

@Bladerider: Chuck, Sorry left you there like that (again for my commitment with friend in Boston) but I did see the flat bed coming your way.
You look great riding bitch! Maybe you could sue NY state for mental trauma it caused you and of course claim for the broken rims.

Jenna and Jackie, Thanks for bringing that water. It helped in all that heat.

It was a great ride overall. Got some high speed twisties! Loved them.

I think I should sign up for road side asistance for my bike!

I must have sweat my ass off while I slept last night... I don't think I woke up with cooter on my face

Thanks to Rob, Jenna and Greg for the company down and back. It was great to meet everyone, even those who assisted in throwing me in the pool with my clothes on.

The ride was a good time, despite the precarious pothole and unplanned detour. I got to hug it out with V and Chuck... and I'm pretty sure I got chuck a little moist

Thanks Jenna for the impromptu drunken photo shoot. Guess I can't complain about no pictures of me on my bike anymore!
