I'm thinking about heading down there... can anyone suggest a route to Fall River from the North Shore that doesn't involve I-95 / I-495?

93S to 24S to 195W
take exit 5, follow 138S (broadway) until you pass troy gas station on your right.
take 2nd right onto griffin st.
granite mill building on corner...vanson is in that ... take left into parking lot - vanson is at the far end

or if you know where 138 meets up in boston you could take that all the way down but thats a pain in the ass

no real easier way than that tho

I'm planning on leaving the Texaco Station in Attleboro, RT123 /RT 95 exit #3 around 11am,and will be taking the back roads down to Fall River.
Another group from N Dartmouth is going to meet us at Vanson around noon. Check out the open house for little then it the roads for a ride, my friend John from N Dartmouth knows alot of good roads in that area. All are welcome PM me for more info.

I say the Boston/Qunicy group should meet at Wollaston Beach at 10 and the hook up with Kevin's group at 11 and then take the back roads to Fall River. I know where that Texaco station is and how to get there.

Just got back from Vanson. Where were the Star Boyz? 2 bikes and a quad

We left just after the dude on the yellow gixxer tried to impress everyone with his skills and failed

I thought the open house this year SUCKED donkey balls.
There were only 2 star boyz's there on piece of shit beat up bikes. They fell over alot, You would think that for all of the years they have been stunting they would be more proficient at it.
I guess its better than what i can pull off, I was just disapointed , I have seen better from them in years past.

Biker Billy wasn't there this year either, so the food was just okay.
Yeh I know its free food that I didn't have to cook so what am I bitching about.

As with a lot of this type of event the crowd sees the stunters and wants to impress the crowd as well, so the side street as people were leaving was a launching pad for wheelies, stopies and burnouts, Which is stupid cause they have a section of the parking lot set aside for that, why do it in the street.
This one guy stoppied down the hill and toppled over spilling his oil all over the road for everyone else to track through, THANKS A LOT PAL. Then 3 guys through it in the back of a pick up and took off. HMMMMM? wonder if they were afraid the cops would show up.

Then to top it off, Vanson is located in an area where ther is no good way to get there or home. We hit traffic the whole way home. I guess its better to be out on the bike in traffic than on the couch when its raining.

Oh well perhaps it will be better next year..........

I agree the Vanson Open House was better other years. However, where can you ride to, see a gathering of bikes, and get a free lunch?

As far as the Star Boyz skills, most rders can't pull a wheelie, never mind drag the tail at 10mph. How about pulling one up while sitting on the tank. Pretty impressive...... Ask the guy who was trying to impress the crowd with a stoppie gone bad. As a result he had to toss (litterly) into the back of a pickup.

All and all, the weather was great and we had a good time!

We just got back. Seth, Bret, and I went up the Cape and back - had a great day of riding! VAnson was alright. The highlight of the day was a guy flipping over his bike while doing an endo 10 feet away from me.

question

How were the deals on the Vanson gear?

Any good deals on 1-piecers or pants?

Would have liked to have gone down and met some of you guys but I was looking at houses all weekend, VERY depressing.

rarely will you find "deals".. (sort of like looking at real estate).

better deals are usually had at New Enough... or by heading down to Vansons during the week. Open houses end up just being a zoo usually, although this one sounds like it was lame.

I thought the show was a bit disappointing. However, the ride after the show was good. We hit some traffic, but the roads were nice and twisty.

Vanson leather is always expensive, I doubt I would ever buy one of their jackets. I didn't see any real deals at the open house, I really reccomend NewEnough.com for good buys.

It was good to meet some NESR members. First time riding with NESR, will do some more rides in the future....

What roads did you take home? cause all the ones I have ever taken home from there over the years have not been twistie?

Although we might have been going in different directions, all depends on where home is I guess.

its just like what greg said... theyre jackets are expensive and the deals they give barely put a dent in anything from what i noticed in the past.

theyre stuff is great but expensive... though i gave in and bought one and i love it.... if the summer keeps up being hot i might give in and buy a fully perferated jacket from someone tho
