beet…you crack me up…..actually, it’s my knee cap that swells up. I had surgery about 7 years ago and it still bugs me every season.

Dancing at a night club back home….floor was wet…..knee snapped right to the side…OUCH! Luckily, I was too drunk to feel the pain that night. The next morning I could even roll out of bed it hurt so much.
Damaged Menicus, torn ligament and chipped cartilage. I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen off yet…
Snowboarding is a big but what the doctor doesn’t know won’t hurt him right?

So I went with my CD player and had some fun, the only trail that was any fun was Ralphs Run, (Sad I know!) Everything else was packed down ice with a crispy crust topping. Ralphs was good because thats were most everybody went and broke everything up for me! I wasn't powder, but it was a smooth ride! I did 18 runs in 2 1/2 hours ! I got there @ 3:30 and was out of there a little after 6. My legs had enough. Great tunes, no lines and smooth runs makes for a good night!

I will be there tomorrow and on the lift by 5! I think the Chef will be with me as well! Anybody else going? We can meet anytime at the Mountain High lift anytime.

This is me geared up in case you see me! This was last week @ Mountain High in CA.

If you want we could hang around the Mtn High lift at the base around 6:30. I would say give me a call when you get there but I dont get service on the cell. I thought I would get great service seeing they have cell towers on the summit, I guess being on the opposite side of the mtn effects the signal.

Oh it will be myself The Chef and Bwap there. I think The chefs jacket is Marroon, or black?

I think I will be on the Skii's tonight if the conditions are the same, I brought the board too in case I change my mind.

Well the knee is fucked, I couldn't walk without being in a ton of pain so I took the day off from work, I have an appointment with an orthopedic at 1:30 to get some answers. I dont think I broke anything, I twisted the the knee real bad. From what I recall, when I went of to the right side of the Lower Tenth Mtn run I was moving very fast. When I did that I did not see that the entire right side was just a huge sheet of hard packed snow covered in a sheet of ice. I had absolutely no control and couldn't catch an edge, I managed to turn towards the center of the trail and hit the edge of the ice area that was raised, my left ski dug into the ground , all my weight transferred to that ski. When it did that the ski acted like a spring board and flung me, but my ski was stuck, so ended up twisting my left leg until the boot broke free and I went flying. It was a good yard sale spread, My ski was about 15 feet up the mtn, my googles and hat flew off when I hit my head, my right ski was still attached but twisted behind me uphill, I was facing down hill. Thank god no witnesses! It was a nasty crash...

This is one reason I preffer the snowboard, you neve have to worry about your legs seperating and twisting you about like this...

I'll post what the damage was later...

Well I will be unable to ski/board/ or play hockey for 4-6 weeks.
I have myself a nice knee brace to walk with, no need for cruches thank god! I go for an MRI tomorrow to see exactly what is wrong, the doctor said it is either a torn MCL (Ligament) or a torn Miniscus. The Miniscus is a piece of tissue I believe that keeps the knee from bending to the sides to far and seperating, if I tore this I will have to go for minor orthopedic sergery. The doctor said the sergery is quick and easy, pretty much painless and the recovery time is 4- 6 weeks after sergery is complete. I'll have all the answers after my next appointment next Tuesday.

This sucks. Watch out for the ice at Wachusett, stay in the middle of the trails! Or wear clear goggles! so you can see better, this may have helped me a little bit more.

Hey mike, I thought you said you could ski Tee hee Kidding, that does suck so early in the year though, you didn't even get to try the new trails they haven't opened up yet.
