I take it you guys had a spirited ride at least for a while.. I had an unexpected furnace problem, didn't go riding Sunday.. got out for a few miles Saturday though, felt good, the last time I rode, the rubber was like hockey pucks, Saturday, I heard hardware scraping a couple times

This post is funny. I just appealed a ticket 20 minutes ago. Lost but got the fine reduced. I had no chance. Racing on 95 blew past a statey. At least I am not paying as much though.

Thing here is, he was alone.
What is done when you are alone riding is different from what is done durring a group ride. I am sure all of us on occation has gone a mile or two over the posted limit That wasn't the gripe here.


There are different rules to follow in a group ride on the street which is why they are posted on the top of the ride fourm.




I'm done here, this could just go back and fourth like every other stupid debate.



This is what it all comes down too.

Be really fucking careful on group rides and have a safe season without this happening again !

Thanks, Ed. Yes I was alone. Do I follow that rule all the time......Nope. But 99% of the time I do, I'd feel more guilty about bringing heat to my riding buddies. I will not be hypocritical here and say I never speed. But I am way more selective of the places I do it. The one time I street race and it got me.....I'll deal. As you said, Ed......I will not be revisiting this post.

The biggest problem with misbehaving in a group is that a lot of the people associated with these dot com groups have atleast one or more stickers on their bike "my riding group .com"
the cops see it, scan the sites, get links to other sites and sit and wait for us on the next ride leaving location X.
We set our selves up to get caught doing a bit more than the sped limit.
These bikes look fast just sitting in the parking lot never mind the perseption of the cagers when they see fully leather clad riders sitting on them, ready for a street race.
We already have joe public against us we don't need to help them hate us .

BTW there was never a chase. I pulled over before the cop even got in his car.
i admitted to the guilt, I took the heat. But its almost like you wish that I ran crashed and got busted just so you can say "look i was right".

As a matter of fact this story would have never seen the light of day if it wasn't for two individuals who are NOT associated with OFDU that decided to run from the cops. They thought that the first trooper was the only one, and they went the opposite direction at 100+mph in the breakdown lane towards the overpass, when the 2nd trooper (actually supervisor) was pulling up. They almost his his cruiser head on, and thats why the troopers were so pissed and why people got nailed.



As said before people that hate motorcyclists will hate them no matter how much you try to applease them.

These are the same people that don't want race tracks, cars with 300 horsepower, aftermarket exhausts, stero systems, personal watercraft, snowmobilies, handguns ect ect
The same people that put limits on sportbike power outputs in Europe that want the UN to pass manditory laws for motorcycles here restricting everything from looks to performance.

Its an all give give give relationship with you losing everything in the end. They don't want to "work" with us, they want us gone, if you thing that I'm giving these spinless venom spewing cowards an inch you got another thing coming bub!

I encourage everyone to read the group ride rules section of this forum.

I will strongly lobby for anyone who endangers others on group rides or tries to outrun cops on a group ride to be banned from NESR forums.
