looks like a bean run on satWell, what if that happens on a "small NESR" ride with only several memebers? Is it fair to banish them from the board such that they may not post up to ride with other members or vice versa? There's also another thing to consider: Giving a ride a name such as, "NESR Group ride", might give some form implied existence to something that is better off not existing.... From a legal point of view... wink, wink.... Just some food for thought, as I recall reading somewhere, that some entity actually got sued when a rider went down on their group ride (might have even been SRNE). |

looks like a bean run on satActually, let me put another couple of things straight. Threatening to sue a website is just that, a threat. It's happened before and it will happen again, but no-one ever ends up being sued. This is a public discussion group, not a club. That is an urban legend about SRNE being sued. As far as I know it was just a threat and it never actually happened. 1. NESR has no money, so don't try to sue NESR 'cos you won't get anything. 2. If you want to go a step further and try to sue Jay, Dan or me then I say BRING IT ON. There are such things as countersuits. For example, someone from the ride on sat sues NESR for organizing the ride, I countersue for endangering our members by ignoring police signals, riding in the breakdown lane etc etc. Basically, if NESR is considered an entity in a lawsuit, then it works both ways. You sue us for organizing a dangerous ride, we sue you for being part of the danger. Guess what, we all pay the lawyers and it gets thrown out. We will not have this forum turned into a pissing contest. If you want to argue points of law take it to the controversial topics area so that I don't have to read it. Bottom line is still the same. You ride dangerously or run from the cops on one of the rides posted from this forum and you will find yourself booted from the site. You ride dangerously or run from the cops on a group ride that I am on and I will make sure that you don't ride with any of my friends again. There are people on NESR's "don't ride with" list. It's not a public list but it does exist. You should ask yourself "am I on this list?" and if the answer could be yes then you should consider why and try to address your bad riding/bahaviour. I have personally seen people killed and paralyzed on motorcycle rides and I don't ever want to see that again. derek |

Joe is a good guy and as i understood it his post is for NESR not against. edit: i dont believe any old timers here would do stupid thing such as running from cops. i think it's kind of pointless to argue among ourselves but wouldn't hurt as a reminder and for new members. any new ideas for safe ride should be looked at. |
