Free scrap steel

I thought some of you might be interested. I am a metal sculptor/fabricator. There are pics of my work at www.mikegreensculpture.com .

I am cleaning out my shop, in Arlington. I will be getting rid of several tons of scrap metal on Monday. I will be filling a container over the weekend. Ten years worth of scrap steel. Plate, pipe, flat stock, sheet, ibeams, it is all going. If anyone needs some scrap, for projects, or to practice welding, Let me know.

I probably do, but I wouldn't consider that scrap. most of the i-beam scraps would be 2' or less.

Mike, you have someplace lined up to buy the steel?
There is a place right down the street here that pays by weight, drive on scales too.

Hi Mike. I'm in Arlington and I could use some scrap steal for a few projects that I'm working on. How can i get in touch with you or when could I swing through?

Thanks,
~Jay

Jay I PMed you.

Brian I just called up a place in the phone book. If I throw out enough to cover hauling, I get some dough back. I just need to get rid of the stuff. Sorting it will be enough of a hassle without having to worry about hauling it.

Mike, how much stuff are you talking?? 2 trips in a 1 ton dump do it? How about a Tri-axle Mack? Dump trailer? Come on how much! Hate to see you loose good $$ paying someone else to drive for you. That money could be spent at the Gap you know!

I really appreciate the offer. I already have the container. I am not sure how much it will end up being. I have scrap packed into every nook and cranny of my shop. I am guessing like 3-4 tons, but it is hard to tell.

I am going to try and make it to deals gap, but it is hard to know right now.

The Mass MoCA desk moves. If you push on the far end you can get it moving up and down like 20". It is one of my favorites as well.

Loomis 5

I think I'm in love with Loomis 5. If I were independantally wealthy it would be in my living room.

Any chance I couud come up some time this spring and see what you are doing? I've always been interested in metal and welding. Don't have any real experience with either. Do you know anyone in the Westport [between Fall River and New Bedford] area who teaches basic welding for artists? Or even for practical purposes? I have some ideas of a more practical purpose as well.
