I would like to spend around 5k. (I know, not much for that year in that price range.)

This would be for me (not Man God in case you saw my other post about the 1000RR for sale).

I sold my SV650S a couple of weeks ago so now I am bikeless.




I search Craigslist and Ebay and BargainNews and Cycletrader, (oh AND the WantAd) all the time.

Any other leads would be great.

$6K takes it. Very clean bike, with a few scuffs and scratches, very minimal. Bike was over on it's side in a driveway for all of 2 seconds. This is a friend/co-workers. He is saving up to buy a house. I can vouch for the bike being excellent!

the bike does look brand new, he takes very good care of his stuff

if you can, go for the 03, as it has a much smother throttle response than the 04.

but it also has alot more problems. If you do get an 03 make sure that the coils have been changed...if not you can bring it to any yamaha dealer to get swapped out. there was recall on them. Also beware that the 03 has a TPS issue that can sometimes kill the engine at a stop.

What Chris said about the 03, it was the smoothest bike I have ever been on. The only problem I ever had with mine was the Micron black/red fade pipe would turn pink after a month or so... but that's not a Yamaha issue
The coils were never recalled but Yamaha was replacing them for free if there was a problem after the waranty ran out
