They're hard to come by. I know because I have one...and by sheer luck I stumbled on a very low mileage lump. If you need some input on the conversion, let me know. Can I interest you in 39mm flatslide carbs? Fit 91-95 zx7 head and all zx9r B's. these are not the OEM flatslides with the 2 accelerator pumps...they are the full aftermarket setup

Hey Ryan

If i ever do come across one i will definately need your input, thanks for the offer. Was the conversion easy? what year engine can i use if i cant come across a 1992, will some of the other years fit?.How long were you looking for one? someone told me there is a junk yard out mid west, but i wont trust a junk yard, been down that route with my truck..never again. Why are you selling the carbs and for how much?

The 91/92 bikes are a bit different. But not as difficult as the 96-03. 93-95 (mine) is actuallly fairly easy. I aluminum filled the top motor mounts and re-drilled for locating the mounts. The motor will sit roughly 10mm higher in the frame than the 750 and a few other odds and ends.

As far as the flatslides are concerned, I wanted to have cleaner carburetion at low rpms although I am definitely sacrificing the hard hit at 1/2 to full throttle (I noticed as soon as I put the cv's back on). Trying not to think it over too much...lol

$375 for the carbs.

WOW, i thought i was going to find a 92 and just slap it in. Do you think if i do find one that it will be that simple? Do you think the mounts will line up on a 92 900? I hope i dont have to do as much work as you did. Well the 750 runs perfect with only 13,000 miles, looks like ill be riding with that for a while. This was just a project bike anyway lowerd, stretched, a little chrome, the real riding happens on the cbr900rr and the gsxr 1186. Oh well the search continues. Thanks for the offer on the carbs but ill save my money for the engine for now. Hopefully there will be one!

Just remember...the 94-97 ZX9R B is the ONLY motor that will fit. the later zx9's will not fit between the frame spars...unless of course you've got a fully equiped machine shop and plenty o' patience! But at that point...dump a 12r or 14r motor in! LOL

12r or 14r, holy shit dont want to kill myself!! thanks for all the advice. Keep ya posted, Ill definetly need some more advice once i find one. Hey any rides on the weekends coming up, you live to far for weekday jonts. Were out west are you? I have only spoken with you and miss twisties- busybee and you both live in the west i think shes in springfield, long ride! But if theres something going on were i could meet some good people to ride with i could put the bike on my truck and just head down. Then i could ride around down there and take the truck ride back alot less tiring.

unfortunately, I'll be out of state this weekend. I'm in Newton, so no trailering necessary. I fully plan on putting another 1000-1500 miles on before season end though...time permitting. If we get a group ride going...bring the gixxer. I like bikes that have been tinkered with...especially the recent oldies.

I actually might take a ride to Motomarket tonight. This is hp weather.

Sorry you wont be around this weekend its going to be perfect on sat and sun given no sudden showers on sun. Newtons perfect distance for me so i look forward to a ride some other time, maybe tuesday night for motmarket i heard people go there tues and thurs. let me know, the gixxer needs some riding time!

I prefer it to something like bike night. But it can be a bit of a "capuccino" crowd...50 somethings and Beemers. But for the most part I like the crowd much better.

Try giving Cycle Salvage in West Haven, CT a call. Ask for Pete. They've got quite a stockpile of older Kawasaki parts.
