2003 CBR600rr - $4000

Hey all,

I'm considering selling my Track Day bike. (2003 CBR600rr)

Most of you have seen it at the track.

LINK TO PHOTO 1

Photo 2

Couple of photos on this page

Basically, it's the red and black color scheme.

The bike has about 24,000 miles on it, but not a scratch anywhere, and runs perfect. One thing I don't screw around with is maintenance.

I just checked the valves, spark plugs, cleaned the air filter, etc. It has always been meticulously maintained and should give the new owner years of trouble free service.

Just changed the clutch in June of this year, so that's another thing you'll probably never have to worry about.

Now... here's the deal:

OPTION 1: The bike "as is", along with the box of street parts (headlight, blinkers, stock footpegs and handlebars, etc) - $5500... and INCLUDES 2 Track Days for you to use in 2007!

So you're really getting the bike for $5000 if you were going to do track days anyway!

This option means your bike is fully setup, including the following parts worth over $2000!

- Ohlins Shock (worth about $1400)
- Ohlins (Scotts) Steering Damper ($400),
- Woodcraft controls (clipons, rearsets - $400),
- Woodcraft Frame sliders and Rear Stand Spools. ($100)
- Stainless steel front brake lines ($60)
- Rear Seat Cowl, Tank protector ($200?)
- Clear and Dark Windshields ($50)

Also, the front forks have been revalved and the springs changed. The front brakes and oil drain are safety wired, along with the oil filter.

NOTE: To give an idea of the effectiveness of the mods above... they dropped about 10 seconds a lap off my times at VIR. There is simply no comparison to the stock setup! The bumps in the track disappeared and the bike just HOOKS UP!

If you wanted to ride both street and track, you could easily hook up the blinkers, headlight and tailight and be good to go. I did NOT cut any of the wiring... all the stock connectors are there, just take off the tape and plug it all back in. I estimate it would take about 2 hours to add all the street stuff back to make it street legal. I'm not talking about changing shocks, etc... just adding the lights back on. The bike has a clean title.

The view most people see :-)

OPTION 2: I will remove all the track goodies and convert the bike back to stock - price is then $4000.

I don't think so... but you never know.

I'll have the winter to buy something and "trackify" it

I bumped the price a little on OPTION 2.

I really don't want to deal with changing the shock, etc.

We all know why Tony is selling his track bike....

... He wants to buy a motard.

Just an FYI...

The bike was only used on the track for 2 seasons.

I bought the bike with a little over 21,000 miles. It was strictly used on the street for those miles.

No reason this bike won't hit 100,000 miles with the right care.

It was in perfect condition when I bought it... and I've made it better.

Looks like I'm picking up another CBR, so OPTION 1 will be coming off the table shortly as I will simply transfer all the "goodies" over.

If you think you wanted the bike as Option 1, let me know quick... before I start swapping parts.

Otherwise... if anyone is interested in Option 2, it should be ready around middle of October. If you'd like to come over and watch the transformation back... you might learn a few things as well.

Beginning Tuesday, I will be converting the bike back to stock.

Should be available by Thursday or so.

I would still entertain selling the bike as is... with all the track stuff AND street stuff... but be sure to contact me by Tuesday.

OK... changed my mind again.

I am selling the bike AS IS... fully track ready with all the street stuff in a box.

(if you want help adding the street parts, I would consider it)

I just rode the bike at Track Day on October 2nd and it worked flawlessly, as always.

I rode my "new" bike (2005 CBR600rr) back to back with this one, and there is simply no comparison. While the motors are about the same strength, I could go much faster on the 2003 with the suspension mods.

My thinking right now is if it doesn't sell... I'll just keep it as my track bike and leave my new bike for the street only.

Link to Photos, etc

Email me direct if interested.

if you decide to put it in street trim and sell for 4k hit me up. I was starting to put some funds aside to get this as a track/street bike.

If you're going to do track days, why would you want me to convert it back?

You'd only save $1000 ($4000 for the bike plus two track days is $4500) compared to the $5500 price

You'll end up spending $2000 at least to get it back to where it is now.

easier to get 4k and it can be tracked in stock form ...plus I am trading my car in for a newer one. so my 2nd bike funds are a bit tight.

i hear ya...

It just doesn't make sense to me anymore to take off all the track goodies when I finally have it set up perfect.

I'd rather see some track day rider benefit from all the time, effort, and money I have into this bike.

Good luck with your search.

That was definitely a fun bike, but I'm cool with the CBR's.

Gotta love the "turn the key and ride" factor.

Also... just a "heads up" that the bike is once again up for sale as a street bike for $4000... BUT... my neighbor has first shot.

He's getting back into riding after a major accident about 4 years ago and he is interested in it.

Should know for certain by Tuesday if it's available.

I may be interested in some of the parts if you switch it back to stock and are selling them.

Just an FYI...

I've modified the photos and info to reflect the current state of the bike.

It's ready to roll! Email me if interested. My neighbor says he wants it, but hasn't given me cash yet, so I'm starting a "backup list"

Again... this bike is MINT! Anyone that knows me well will tell you that I care for stuff meticulously. I don't do any kind of stunting or anything else that would cause damage or premature wear.

And... I do PRO ACTIVE maintenance. I don't wait for stuff to break and then fix it.

Anyway... here's photos from today.

New Photos, Info
