Just walked out of the DMV with plate and tags in hand....she's registered and the paperwork is complete.

Nice!! Glad all that worked out for you I was gonna ask if you rode the bike out to where you did the photo shoot, but the stands were kinda a giveaway..haha

Yep, first time.

Got the plates, came home, bolted them up, put the tags on, filled the tank with gas (5 gallons and STILL not full), and switched the key on.....

Engine cranked over about 10 times, and the battery died. UUUGGGG!

Got her on the Tender right now. Should be good by Sunday.

Refund? Dear God...I hope I don't have to walk that path, but you'll be the first person I PM if it ever comes to that.

I think it's close to a 6 gallon tank...and it's very thirsty.

I replaced that battery in the spring of 2006, though the bike has seen very little use sence then. It was low and I had to charge it when I picked the bike up from my parents house a month or so ago, it seemed fine after that?

Enough with the hate mail.

I had to list the R7 for sale. This is my dream bike, and it was my dream come true. However, as MANY people here are well aware, the economy is CRAP right now. Wasn't that way when I bought it just 8 months ago. I have dug a hole (beginning with the crash/rebuild of my R1 last year) that I can not climb out of, and I'm trying to keep my family in our house (here in San Diego where prices have fallen over 30%) and my son in school on my military paycheck. I'm asking the SAME AMOUNT that Mark began asking for her, way back in August of 2006. It came down to choosing ONE bike to keep, and I chose the R1. I have my heart and soul poured into that bike, and it means the world to me.

If there was ANY FRIGGING WAY I could keep her, I would. For anyone that questions my love for that bike, there's a reason I built a replica not once, but TWICE. Mark sold her to pay for bills....and I'm doing the same damn thing. I'm asking more than I bought it for because I'm trying to dig my family out of a hole...good enough reason?

Sorry, but the hate mail stung a bit. I'm not an asshole, and I don't appreciate being accused as such.

Thanks for being understanding Mark....you know how I feel about her. This sucks beyond all comprehension.
