Friend of mine is finally getting a bike. Has his permit, is taking the MSF in a couple weeks.

A bit on the inseam challenged side.

Can tip-toe on an EX500 with a lowered seat. Looking for a standard, crusier. Can need work for the right price but would prefer a running riding bike.

He has cash waiting. I'll be handling the transaction.

Virago, Shadow, Intruder, etc would all be perfect. Cruisers can have more CC's.

What part of "Does it run good?" do people not understand?

WTF, drive 3 fucking hours up to VT to buy a Virago 535 for my buddy. Test ride it up the street (slight hill) and the thing can't even hold 35mph tacked out WOT in SECOND GEAR!!!! "Oh, it runs fine!"

Bike is supposed to make in the high 30hp to mid 40's. It MIGHT of had 12. No obstruction in the carbs, no smoke......just no go. What a waste of an entire tank of gas and 8 hours of our time.

Yup.

Jenny, if you wanna sell the GS, now is a good time to do so. On the Want Ad and Craigslist, bikes that I would have considered for $500 10 years ago are selling now (same year bike, not ten years newer) for $1500-$3000. It's disgusting.

Of course then she calls back and suddenly after changing the plugs, it runs better than ever before!

That's ok, it wasn't in that good of shape and I can only imagine the neglect that bike has endured.

She offered to deliver to Keene (20 minutes from my house). I asked if the price was negiotiable, she said no due to delivery. Uhhhhh....if your bike was in the condition you said it was in, I WOULDN'T OF NEEDED DELIVERY.

Frustrating. Oh well.
