Looking for my wife's first bike. Trying to keep it in budget of $3000 or less. Preference is an EX500 in decent condition.

Second choices are older CBR600(F2 or F3) or ZX-6. I don't want her getting on a 200x 600 Supersport and crashing it. At least an older bike wouldn't be as bad. (of course, any crash if bad, but crashing a newer bike really sucks.)

Craigslist seems to be sucking lately. So, if you have something to sell, post it up.

We talked about a 250 and I just don't want a bike she'll grow out of inside of one season. We're not rich and adding a second bike to the stable is going to cut into the food budget...

I'd like to do this exercise once and not have to do it again next season.

I have a F3 for sale which was my first bike. I wouldn't get an F3 as a first bike without having taken the MSF course first. If she takes the course it'll be a fun bike.

it was for sale on here for over a year and no one bit.
some kid bought it and supposed to be paying me the 1st of every month but havent seen a dime since May. Bill of sale says if he misses 2 consecutive payment he loses the bike and any/all deposits/payments made. so if i dont see any money by august 1st i go get the bike.

Well, I'm bummed. As I mentioned to a couple of the guys last night, I was supposed to go look at a 1996 YZF600 that was posted on Craigslist on Wednesday (1996 Yamaha YZF 600)

So, the wife & I jumped in the car to go look at it in Brighton (about an hour away) and about 10 minutes after we left the house, my cell rings.

Apparently, the seller had someone come by last night and paid cash for it. The least he could have done was called me a little earlier. I was all psyched to go see it. As the photos suggest, it looks pretty cherry.

So, now I'm bummed. I need a beer or ten.

Something similar to me earlier this year... I went to check out a CB550. I called the guy and told him I'd be there in 30 minutes.

When I got there... another guy was loading the bike into his truck... he had gotten there about about 15 minutes before me and snagged it.

Anyway... Chuck... what about viva's bike... he dropped the NESR price to 2500... that seems like a decent deal.

Have no idea what types of issues this bike would have. 14 year old and only 500 miles. How long has it been sitting and what work would it need to get running.

Fluids can gum shit up, seals dry out and crack, tires turn to shit, etc.

ya if be weary of that bike, im sure it'll need more than a tune up a few miles down the road, fuel system isnt the only thing that goes bad after sitting for too long
