Hey Josh... Couple of questions if ya don't mind...

I'm GPS illiterate... Do you have to pay a service fee to use them?

Also is there something made that allows you to connect it to a bike...?

and last are they water proof so that if it was on said bike and it rained it wouldn't get ruined...?

I know the answer for the first question , nope don't need to pay service fees , the rest I dunno , JC would know though.

No there is no fee that I know of. They only receive signals from GPS satellites so there's no way they could limit usage like that.

I know you can get various mount setups from http://www.stemstand.com for radar detectors, gps, and other electronics. You may have to do some additional wiring to provide power to the unit if it doesn't run on batteries.

I don't know if it's waterproof or not, actually. Perhaps there are specs for this model on the internet? I will look and post any results I find here.

lol , I was thinking of getting one of those before and had it stored in the favorites , but figured out I don't go anywhere far enough to actually use it , so I didn't get it

I have the Etrex Vista. I love it when I need it, but I don't really use it that often. It is very small and light, and waterproof...so it would be ideal for hiking or mountain biking in unfamiliar territory. I bring it on longer rides too in case we get lost. A map doesn't do you ANY good if you have no idea where you are.

that's why Cruise Missles have GPS... you can't hit something accurately unless you know exactly where you're starting from... cool huh?

man I just thought of something mad fun , get one of those GPS things and get a on/off road bike and go to Arizona and get lost in the desert and try to find your way back. As long as you don't run out of gas it sounds pretty fun
