Im planning to keep the DRZ motard out for the winter. I do not plan to ride in snow or ice, but would like to ride when its wet, salty sandy etc. I'm swping tires at this point and was going to go with Pilots, but am considering a more winter appropriate tire till the spring.
Any recommendations? I was thinking about these Avons.

If you're going to do anything, go with the Avon rains. RandyO will tell you those are the way to go in the winter.
The tires that are on that bike are an SM designation, and are a very soft compound. I wouldn't see the point in switching to Pilot Powers.![]()
Rain tires will do you best in the cold, wet, sandy, and such conditions. Anything else is going to be slipping and sliding everywhere.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
