Lesson #383: Don't use a front stand without a rear stand

I was out at sears point, CA for the weekend and had my f4i up on a pit bull front stand. I had the wheel off and was getting the front tire changed when suddenly a buddy ran up to me and told me my bike was down. whoops!!!

Apparently you're not supposed to put a bike on a front stand without having it on a rear stand as well.

That lesson cost me a footpeg, a clutch lever, and both mirrors (how did BOTH mirrors break off? i have no idea. i hate honda's flimsy mirrors)

fortunatley for me the place i bought my stands told me in advance.

Ha! That was actually a very, very minor incident compared to the other crap i've done this season

but yeah that was surprising, the bike looked pretty stable when i left it.

the other lesson is to get frame sliders and would save you those parts.

one mirror broke cuz the bike landed on it, the other mirror broke cuz some little kid ran into the bike, knocking it off the stand

i think they saved the plastics from the fall, cuz only the fender got scratched

i really have to complain about Honda parts. They break too damn easily!! it's like the bike is made out of paper or something.

Sounds like a "Rookie" mistake.... You have been to some track days right? Did you see any bikes on front stands only.... nope? Now you know the reason.

The stand lesson is an easy one to learn from and not to costly... not like hitting a turn too hot which can ring up mucho dinaro and maybe get ya fucked up...

You should never feel stupid asking questions, especially if you are of the female gender, most males get off on helping out a lady.... me included...
