Is anyone free for a group ride (weather permitting) on the following dates?
-Saturday, March 5th
-Saturday, March 12th
-Saturday, April 16th
-Or, anytime after May 16th, but before August 12th (for summer).
I'm guessing most people have full time jobs or are students, so I made the date a Saturday. If you would rather ride on Sunday morning, then the day after the aforementioned date can be a potential ride date.
So post your availability, location, and email so we can coordinate accordingly.
the rides section becomes VERY active once the weather gets nice. There are plenty of people that ride out there and other places that are a short ride from where you are. Feel free to make a rip up here for a ride sometime too![]()

Transferring my plates to the new bike this week sometime... I'll be ready verrrry soon !
I'm new to the forum.
Do group rides happen every week?
Do they consist of the same people?
Are there any in Westborough, MA?
Any in Boston? (I'll run a search right after I post this.)
And does anyone ride from Westborough, to Boston?
Also, I posted the above dates around my exam/paper schedules.
There are rides everywhere and almost every week. There is always someone looking for someone to ride with so finding a riding buddy wont be hard. We have ridden in Westborough but most rides try to avoid the citys and highways. There are lots of nice rides to Vt, Western Mass and NH a lot. Aslo the rides are almost always different people or new people on every ride. Its not certain clicks or anything. Everyone is always welcome.

werrrrrrrrrd.... I'm in Boston, but one of the best rides i went on this past season was the one that started at Motomarket & went up to VT.... man that was a crazy ride... 450 miles, 4 gas stops and 14 hours later i was rollin my bike back into the garageOriginally posted by mycirus

I'll be honest.
I'm just so pumped there are other riders near me (via forum), that I don't have to double back on route-9, to ride with, I jumped the gun way too early.
I'll give the riding season a few weeks to begin blossoming.
But I still hold by those dates! Too much work otherwise to go any other time...
as the guy who led most of that ride, what can i say?Originally posted by OreoGaborio

other than i'm very happy it was an uneventful ride.
in the future these type of group rides won't happen often, if at all.
but i can remember back in the olden days when we did one of these every week

Irrespective of what day riders have open, Sunday is the best day for group rides.
Saturday is the highest traffic day of the week. everybody and their brother is out running errands, more people doing stupid shit like making a home depot run with 16 feet of floppy wood in a 6 foot bed pickup truck, and 2 guys witht their hands out the window of a toyota camry hanging on the the piece of sheet rock on the roof...
ok, I exadurate.... weekdays between commuting hours is the best time to ride, but most people have to work.
that said, I rarely ride saturday, I'm one of the idiots making a home depot run

There are good back roads on the North Shore? You mind directing me to them? I lived in Western MA for all but the last year of my life so I know all the good riding out there but I'm at a loss for this area. All I find when I go out is old people driving really slow and this this being the age of everyone and anyone having a cell phone, i'm a lot less inclined to blow by them.Originally posted by OreoGaborio

Bhavesh, once the weather is better, I'm out riding almost every day after work. I'll ride with anyone so long as they're not a dumbass.
hit up the topsfield/boxford/west boxford/georgetown area... spend some time gettin lost around rte 133. it's not long stretches of 1 road, more of a maze of lefts & rights... just beware of cops, cuz they're out there. i don't usually haul too much ass.
then go allong the northern ma coast through Gloucester etc. through the whole Cape Ann area. again, not an area you can really haul ass through at twice the limit, but there's some nice winding roads w/ pretty good scenery.

It looks like March 5th will be a cold, and possibly a snowed-in day.
I'll go for a spin, but just in/around Westborough, MA. If anyone's available, and in the area, leave a post here and we'll find a riding route.
Well, 1/3 of my spring ride dates are done.
I went for a spin today (3/5) for about an hour down route 9, around westborough, and near the solomon pond road.
Anyone in/around Westborough want to ride next saturday?
Well, I went again today.
It was a little more wet outside, so I took it easy for about twenty minutes.
Date: Sunday April 10th
Meet: 11AM at Motomarket in Acton

Sounds like an interesting poker run. Would be interesting ta get a group of NESR riders for a short day out.
I do know that a few of us here could bring ya down some roads that might spark your interest a little more. Maybe we'll save those for a.................well.....................a short rideto do some other time.
Oh....and don't forget to invite some other great peeps Blackvfr, Irrs167and A996R.

What do you think of the route?
I'm not too familiar with some areas and I don't know if people want highways or 2 land backroads.
If there is at least one person at each meeting point, we can leave that location on the map.
I've never been on a group ride before.
Any tips or pointers?
Should I start a new thread? The ride date is ~ one month away.
