I used to use cheap gloves, until I wrecked while wearing them. They tore open on both palms and one finger ripped open. Needless to say, I decided to buy the best armored gloves I could find after that. I will never buy anything but Held gloves now.
shit sizes
shit gloves are better then no gloves
& helds will rip open 2 not as easy buy will
best thing dont crash .

as with all gear, you get what you pay for
Sorry but I'll be sticking with Held's myself, I don't cheap on gloves.
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
which model are you two using for the Held's? Never heard of them til now.

They are made of all kanagaroo hide (supposed to be softer, yet stronger than cow hide), have kevlar reinforced knucke, back of hand, and wrist armor, and have small smooth rivets in the palm to allow your hand to slide across the pavement without tearing the palm apart.
Here's a shot of my glove
They are pricey, but worth it in my opinion.
Wow, I bought some Joe Rocket gloves for $50 from the local dealership, and they aren't as big as those.
Do any ($50) gloves offer protection in the palm?
It seems like they only have leather for grip. No armor/padding for protection.
maybe a purchase for me birfday this year
I checked out their site and they are def pricey but I need my hands so I think it's worth it but right now I am workin on the new tires and leather jacket....sick of this Crapit Textile POS

i have a pair of A*s GP Plus gloves... their tripple digit price is pretty steep but I friggin love em
i guess they're pretty simliar to the Held Galaxy's posted above, but w/o the rivets... they do have alot of padding/layers & kevlar lining inside on the palm for protection though, as well as a webbing between your pinky & ring fingers to kinda splint em together

I can say that I really like the idea of the rivets in the palm. That's a helluva feature

here is a shot of the palm of the Helds. You'll notice that there is an extra piece of hide stitched into the center of the palm, but the underlying palm leather is actually one piece. Stitches are the first to give when dragged across pavement, which is why there is just one continuous piece of leather for the palm, with extra leather for padding and grip.Originally posted by Nikon

Also notice that the rivets are not all over the palm, but rather strategically placed where they are needed most during a slide. The white spots on some of the rivets are just spots where the black finish has rubbed off.

I have Held Galaxies in XL I believe I am thinking of selling them.
They are nice but I'm not sure they are just right for me with my particular jacket...
If anyone is interested let me know. I can post some pics, they are only like 6 months old or something, not much wear & tear.

how do the sizes match up to A*s? I have a pair of xxl A*s so I want to see how they would match up in size. I see that Held says their size 11 is an xxl. Any thoughts?

If you ever get down to MA or NH, try Motomarket in Acton MA, or Seacoast Sport Cycle (Aprilia/Motoguzzi dealer) in Derry, NH.Originally posted by Nikon
