Hi folks.
This is my first post, so be gentle with me. I've been lurking here since I joined, so I am a little familiar with how you folks like it rough {Tee Hee!}
I have an old 86 GSXR750 that has been in a coma since about 98. It is looking like it will come out of it next spring. I am the original owner, and am too damn stubborn to part with it. It is full of typical old gixxer mods, so it goes pretty good for an old girl. I hope to get up to NHIS for at least a couple open practice days before I take a track day with you folks. Last time I was on the track was in 97. It was with a sportbike club trackday. Might have been with NESR. It was before they straightened out turn eight. Please excuse me if my recollection of things is a little hazy. Old age setting in! Anyhow, I will need to take some time to get back up to whatever speed I was at back then. Heck, I might not even get that far. The older I get, the smaller my naughty bits are getting! No record breaker here, just a longtime enthusiast. I hope to meet some you folks over time, and entertain you with some of my tales of stupidity. Hope to meet some of you next year. Tabby

welcome Tabby, post pics of the gixxer if you got any!![]()
Don't have any pictures right now. I'm a little slow with the digital camera stuff. Besides, my bike is VERY weather worn. You folks wouldn't be impressed. It has about 76,000 miles on the clock, and it shows. I always tried to spend my money on the go fast goodies instead of the cosmetics. My logic was, since I would take it on the track occasionally, why spend the money on making it look pretty, when there was a good chance it would end up getting cozy with the track surface {it has!}. Any of you folks familiar with "Performance Bikes" magazine? British Nuts!! Years ago they had cool T-shirt for sale. It said "If it doesn't make it go faster, handle better, or give me sexual satisfaction, I'm not interested in it!" Kind of my sense of humor.
I know how you feel...I will NEVER give up my gixxer, no matter how much work SVRACER01 has to do to it!!!(love you baby)

I bought that same model when it hit the streets of America in 86.
Great bike, It replaced an 84 Ninja 900 I had.
Dust off the cobwebs and head to the track next year.
This is my current stead coming out of 2.

Welcome to the site bro & by all means feel free to join us at a trackday. When think of "Open Practice" i think of racers headin up to the track before a race weekend... not the thing you wanna be involved in if you haven't been on the track in a while. Only people here that attend those are the racers. The rest of us usually go to Tony for our crack fix. Most of us just "sell our soules" to him and do all of his dates during the seasonbut it's totally worth it, so check him out. You'll meet a good portion of us & you'll have no pressure on ya to "get back up to speed" as ya put it, there's riders of AAALLLLLLLL skill levels at his events.
See ya out there

Hey Oreo, no worries. My "get back up to speed" is strictly internal. You know, get to that point where you going and doing and loving it. Passing, getting passed, letting your motor sing it's heart out. Hmmm, I'm getting warm just thinking about it.
As the owner of a ratty 86 Kawaski with 99,000+ miles, I can assure you, I'd be impressed.Originally posted by Tabby

Welcome to NESR-Brand-Chaos.
Post the pics of the Suzuki I'd much rather see a well ridden bike owned by a motorcyclist than a pic of a blinged-out fashion excessory owened by a squid.
dont be shy with posts...NESR is the most fun once you jump in and plummet all the way to bottom.

Don't listen to Lion on a leash. He is being nicer than he should be. I'll see if I can get some pictures of the work in progress. I'll be picking up the motor from New England Performance some time before xmas.
