Truth be told, the NESR server floppy disc simply ran outta room. We thought 128K would be enough, but someone tried uploading a new avatar and it ran 14K over. We gotta get a new floppy now...

Are you talking about the application or the web server? If it's the web server (and it's Apache), why not just set the rotatelog directive in the httpd.conf and set the time to be 86400 (24 hours).

That way, the logs rotate automatically and are not bound by a cron job.

The web server. I'd rather fix it so cPanel rotates the log like it's supposed to. It's not that cron didn't run, it's that the script didn't rotate THIS log.

I think I found the problem. cPanel seems to have changed the logrotate settings so they can be managed via the web interface. All logs were set to not rotate. Yay.

yep... i thought data security at work finally saw all the traffic going to the site and finally decided to block it like the rest of the sites I use... then I realized Frankenstein was just telling me to get something productive done for a couple hours so everything looks legit!
